PhD position at ESPCI Paris PSL We are looking for a motivated PhD student to work at ESPCI Paris PSL on the Design of two phase Materials for Bacterial-Based Sustainable Biopesticide Delivery Systems. The PhD student will work at the Soft Matter Science and engineering under the supervision of Cécile Monteux and Théo Merland as well as Florence ELias at the Physics and Mechanics of Heterogeneous Systems and Marisol Rippol at the Juelich Research Center. The project is funded by Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Networks HORIZON-MSCA-2023. The project's main objective will be to stabilize two phase systems containing bacteria (eg either aqueous foams or water-in-water emulsions, which are obtained by the phase separation of two polymer solutions). We will determine the conditions in which the dispersion of gaz or droplets are stable over time, whether the adsorption of the bacteria at the interface can be obtained and whether it improves the stability of the materials. Profile Ideal candidates hold an MSc degree either in physics, biophysics, chemical engineering with knowledge in the field of soft matter. Additionally, they should not have spent more than 12 months in France over the last 3 years. They should be fluent in in English. Knowing some French is beneficial. We are looking for enthusiastic students. Application process : The contract can start as early as January 2025. If you are interested please send us a CV, two letters of recommendation and your academic transcripts at the Master's level. The email addresses to send your application are cecile.monteux@espci.fr ; theo.merland@espci.fr ; florence.elias@espci.fr The ad can be found here https://lnkd.in/e-6YrNWa
