Reflecting on the Exhilarating Experience at HACR - Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) Executive Programs! 🌟 Last week, I shared the phenomenal opportunity to speak at the HACR Executive Programs in #Atlanta. We celebrated and explored the unique challenges and triumphs of Latino / Hispanic executives in corporate America. The energy, passion, and commitment to leadership and excellence were truly inspiring. It was a powerful reminder that our heritage is not just a part of who we are, but a driving force behind our ability to lead with authenticity and impact. To all my fellow Latino and Hispanic leaders: keep pushing boundaries, breaking barriers, and leading with positive impact. Our stories are powerful, our contributions are invaluable, and our potential is limitless. Let’s continue to elevate each other and pave the way for future generations. I am confident you will appreciate a few nuggets of wisdom from outstanding leaders who shared their wisdom during the events: Cid Wilson – When you have been given the seat, you have the responsibility to speak! Fear NOT your ambition. It’s not about fitting-in, but about standing-out… so you can become out-standing! Oscar Munoz – Know who you really are! Ana Dutra – The role of the Board is "NiFo": Nose In, Fingers Off! Lucinda Martinez – In marketing, getting the reach does not mean you are getting in touch. George Herrera – In supporting Latino pipeline, we must do the “push” up and the “pull” up. Gale King – Performance is expected. Value is added to it! @Michael Brown – Diversity may not happen in 6 months, but you can make it happen in 6 years! I was happy to share some guidance about the corporate journey: Make sure you embark in each of the three ships: #allyship, #mentorship, #sponsorhip”. To each of you who stand for the value of our differences, for equity in the opportunity for all to thrive, for supporting each other… To companies that value diversity and leadership, let’s keep the conversation moving forward! Let's make a positive impact together! #HACREP24 #IntenttoImpact #LatinoLeadership #HispanicExecutives #Leadership #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #Latinidad #SpeakingEngagements #LeadershipCoaching Jon G. You don't need to know everything to do great things. What you need is others to mid-wife your commitment to the world. Nobody born him or herself. (I know it's not good English, but you get the point) It takes a village to raise the child. But it takes mid-wives, and your pushing, to bring the child into the world. When the story of the Africa Leadership Transformation (ALT) Foundation is written, the mid-wives will be duly acknowledged. It will be abundantly clear that the vision on an Africa that works for everyone is a mandate beyond one person! At different stages of the child's growth, different people show up and play different roles. It truly takes a village to raise up a child. "The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new." - Socrates. We've taken these wise words to heart at the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth. Embracing change, we're redefining our role within the community and shaping what the YMCA of the future will look like. This evolution has been fueled by new and longstanding leaders who have collectively poured their energy into this transformative journey. Change can be challenging. It has required us to examine and, at times, alter our longstanding habits and methods. Yet, it's in focusing on the new—on innovation, on fresh perspectives, on uncharted paths—that we've found our most tremendous success. Our progress is a testament to the resilience and dedication of our team, a blend of individuals who have been part of the YMCA family from the beginning and those who are new to our mission but have quickly become integral to our evolution. Together, they have challenged our thinking, introduced innovative ideas, and embraced change with open arms. The transformation journey has been challenging, but it's a path we tread with pride, knowing we are making a significant impact in our community. As we continue to move forward, let us keep the wisdom of Socrates in mind. Let's not expend our energies dwelling on what was but rather invest them in building what will be. Together, we're not just witnessing change; we're leading it. The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth is proud to be a beacon of innovation and community service. Here's to building the new, embracing change, and a future filled with endless possibilities. It’s been a minute since my last post – things have been crazy (in the best way)! 🎉 First up, I’m still riding high from the amazing INARF annual conference – nothing beats seeing all of our incredible members coming together to share, learn, and grow! On top of that, I’m beyond excited to announce that I’ve been accepted into the ANCOR Board of Representatives! 🙌 If you’ve been thinking about joining ANCOR, shoot me a message – I’d love to tell you all about why it’s such a game-changer for advocacy and collaboration in our field! But wait, there’s more! One of the most inspiring experiences I’ve had recently is being a part of the ANCOR Leadership Academy. If you didn’t apply this year, do not miss the chance next year – it’s a transformative program that brings together leaders who are passionate about driving change. And now, the biggest news – my capstone project for the Leadership Academy is all about something very close to my heart: SIBS SupportIN! 💜 I’ve launched a support group for siblings of individuals with disabilities right here in Indiana, and we’re kicking off our first meetings this month. My ultimate goal? To become a chapter of the The Sibling Leadership Network. If you’re a sibling, or you know someone who could benefit from being part of this amazing community, I’d love for you to join us or get involved in any way. Let’s make a difference together! #SIBSSupportIN #SiblingLeadershipNetwork #DisabilityAdvocacy #ANCOR #INARF #LeadershipAcademy #StrongerTogether #Support #MakingADifference
