HLD pour la Méditerranée soutient des projets innovants et ambitieux de protection de l'environnement en Méditerranée.
Depuis 2018, le Fonds HLD pour la Méditerranée s’engage pour préserver l’environnement marin en Méditerranée. Biodiversité, littoral, récifs, pollution… les sujets liés à l’activité de l’Homme sur cette région du monde sont nombreux et le Mécénat du Groupe HLD contribue, à travers des projets concrets et des actions de sensibilisation, à changer les comportements et développer un impact positif. Dans ce cadre le Fonds HLD pour la Méditerranée organisera les 12 et 13 mai prochain un Hackathon à Marseille avec l’appui de l’Association Latitudes.
Latitudes, la tech au service de l’intérêt général
« Avec des super compétences, comment devenir super utile ? » Cette question a donné naissance à Latitudes – Exploring Tech for Good comme le rappelle Augustin Courtier , co-fondateur de l’association en 2017 avec 2 autres élèves en école d’ingénieurs. Ce projet ambitieux, qui fédère aujourd’hui plus de 500 bénévoles autour des 12 salariés de l’Association, favorise ainsi l’engagement citoyen des (futurs) professionnels du monde numérique pour répondre aux défis sociaux et environnementaux de notre époque et mieux maîtriser les effets du numérique.
Collectif, collaboratif, citoyen, … L’action de Latitudes – Exploring Tech for Good permet « d’embarquer » plus de
11 000 personnes par an sur des projets de natures très différentes mais avec une même ambition : coordonner des expertises pour avoir de l’impact et sensibiliser les individus autant que les organisations ou les « systèmes ».
Innover pour faire bouger les lignes !
Cette culture de l’impact a naturellement trouvé un écho très fort au sein du Fonds HLD pour la Méditerranée qui a choisi de s’engager aux côtés de Latitudes en organisant un Hackathon les 12 et 13 mai prochains.
« La complémentarité de nos expertises et l’approche « tech » de Latitudes nous ont permis d’envisager un programme à la fois innovant et inspirant pour répondre avec pragmatisme aux enjeux liés à l’environnement marin » comme le souligne Christine Tarbouriech , Responsable du Fonds HLD pour la Méditerranée . En effet, « nous ne pouvons pas tout faire seul et l’expertise du numérique que nous apportons prend toute sa valeur si et seulement si nous travaillons avec des partenaires qui connaissent la problématique adressée. Et c’est justement le cas pour la Hackathon que nous organisons avec le Fonds HLD pour la Méditerranée qui connait l’écosystème et anime déjà certains acteurs engagés » renchérit Augustin Courtier qui sait toute la valeur du collectif dans une telle entreprise.
24 Heures d’action(s) !
Pour concevoir des solutions numériques au service de la protection de la Méditerranée Latitudes – Exploring Tech for Good et le Fonds HLD pour la Méditerranée ont donc décidé de « Prototyper des solutions numériques innovantes et à impact positif qui pourront effectivement voir le jour et être développées avec les porteurs de projet suite au Hackathon ».
Concrètement, les 12 et 13 Mai prochain à Marseille, plusieurs équipes (40 à 50 participants) vont relever les défis proposés par 4 associations :
- Association MerTerre : exploiter et valoriser les données recueillies liées aux déchets pour sensibiliser et coordonner les différents acteurs
- Pure Ocean Fund : Recenser et répertorier des informations (pollutions, écosystèmes marins…) dans le cadre de courses en mer.
- Expédition MED : Récolter des données en temps réel pendant les expéditions de recensement des pollutions micro plastiques pour les cartographier, les caractériser et les comprendre.
- Mare Vivu : Identifier et recenser les espèces marines à l’aide d’une intelligence artificielle pour combler le manque d’information.
Le Hackathon est ainsi un temps fort autour de l’’innovation et de la création qui mobilise pendant 24 heures des expertises complémentaires autour de la tech pour créer des solutions pérennes et fédérer les acteurs du territoire autour d’un enjeu commun.

Since 2018, the Fonds HLD pour la Méditerranée has been committed to preserving the marine environment in the Mediterranean. Biodiversity, coastline, reefs, pollution... there are many issues related to human activity in this region of the world and the HLD Group's Patronage contributes, through concrete projects and awareness-raising actions, to changing behaviour and developing a positive impact. In this context, the Fonds HLD pour la Méditerranée will organise a Hackathon in Marseille on 12 and 13 May with the support of the Association Latitudes.
Latitudes, technology at the service of the general interest
"With super skills, how to become super useful?" This question gave birth to Latitudes as Augustin Courtier, co-founder of the association in 2017 with 2 other engineering school students, recalls. This ambitious project, which today unites more than 500 volunteers around the 12 salaried employees of the Association, thus encourages the civic commitment of (future) professionals in the digital world to respond to the social and environmental challenges of our time and to better control the effects of digital technology.
Collective, collaborative, civic, ... Latitudes' action allows more than 11,000 people per year on projects of very different natures but with the same ambition: to coordinate expertise to have an impact and raise awareness among individuals as well as organisations or "systems".
Innovate to move the lines!
This culture of impact has naturally found a strong echo within the Fonds HLD pour la Méditerranée, which has chosen to commit itself alongside Latitudes by organising a Hackathon on 12 and 13 May.
"The complementary nature of our expertise and Latitudes' "tech" approach have enabled us to envisage a program that is both innovative and inspiring in order to provide a pragmatic response to the challenges linked to the marine environment", as Christine Tarbouriech, Head of the HLD Fonds HLD pour la Méditerranée, points out. Indeed, "we cannot do everything on our own and the digital expertise that we bring to the table is of great value if and only if we work with partners who are familiar with the issues at hand. And this is precisely the case for the Hackathon that we are organising with the Fonds HLD pour la Méditerranée, which knows the ecosystem and is already animating some of the committed actors", adds Augustin Courtier, who knows the value of the collective in such an undertaking.
24 hours of action!
In order to design digital solutions to protect the Mediterranean sea, Latitudes and the Fonds HLD pour la Méditerranée have decided to "Prototype innovative digital solutions with a positive impact that can actually be developed with the project leaders following the Hackathon".
In concrete terms, on 12 and 13 May in Marseille, several teams (40 to 50 participants) will take up the challenges proposed by 4 associations:
- MerTerre: to exploit and enhance the data collected on waste in order to raise awareness and coordinate the various players.
- Pure Ocean: Collect and list information (pollution, marine ecosystems, etc.) during sea races.
- Expédition Med: Collecting data in real time during expeditions to map, characterise and understand micro plastic pollution.
- Mare vivu: Identifying and surveying marine species using artificial intelligence to fill the information gap.
The Hackathon is thus a strong time around innovation and creation which mobilizes during 24 hours complementary expertise around the tech to create sustainable solutions and federate the actors of the territory around a common stake.
