This is a natural to think about how #2025 will unfold. It is also important to take a longer-term view to think about how each of us want to shape the #future, says Chris Luebkeman, the leader of the Strategic Foresight Hub in the Office of the President at ETH Zurich (the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich). That’s why he says he co-founded your 2040, a community driven think-tank, network-of-networks and platform focused on the future, with business partner Jonelle Simunich, a fellow at the Edinburgh Futures Institute. They host a unique annual gathering which takes place in La Punt Chamues-ch, a small Swiss Alpine village 1,687 meters above sea level in the middle of the Engadine Valley. There they gather 100 handpicked people from a variety of backgrounds, ages, professions and geographies from near and far. The goal is to envision what participants want the world to look like in the year 2040 and outline what actions need to happen to help their visions become reality. It is important for corporations, organizations, governments and individuals to engage in this kind of foresight-to-action exercise to understand “how their products, processes and people might fit into the story of tomorrow,” says Luebkeman. Looking towards its own future Y(our) 2040 aims to engage people, communities and groups around the world. To achieve this Luebkeman and Simunich plan to translate their process for co-creating #desirablefutures into a toolkit that can be used anywhere by any community or group of people to help them better understand and plan for their future. Y(our) 2040 is currently expanding into other geographies, including Scotland, Mexico and Oman. The goal is to engage 25 million people in over 50 countries between now and the year #2040. https://lnkd.in/ewunwERg

Global Sustainable Transformation (GST), a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich , replaces conventional raw materials such as #cocoabutter, #palmoil, and #sunfloweroil in food, cosmetic, and oleo-chemicals, with cutting-edge biotechnology. Its patented FHCR technology, a platform that enables the production of triglycerides, bio-actives, and bio-based polymers for various applications, is centered around a unique fermentation process which transforms organic waste streams into high-value intermediates for a circular #bioeconomy. Applications include #food, #cosmetics and #biofuels. The company says it is in the process of closing deals with a large European supermarket chain and a U.S. oleochemicals manufacturer. “Our technology enables highly efficient, waste-free, low-carbon production and solves supply chain issues,” says GST founder Dr. Dr. Mahmoud Masri. GST is one of 60+ startups that pitched to investors and industry leaders at the December 10 Ultimate Demo Day at UnternehmerTUM, the start-up lab of the Technical University of Munich. https://lnkd.in/eKRBApuK

To understand the current state of #ExtendedReality (XR), an umbrella term to referring to augmented reality (#AR), virtual reality (#VR), and mixed reality (#MR), look no further than your neighborhood Walmart. The global retailer was a pioneer in introducing AR experiences in Roblox, a virtual world, but is now testing the tech on a more mainstream audience, because, it says, retail today goes beyond just online and in-store shopping, or even a combination of both. Indeed, SEPHORA and L'Oréal report that AR-enabled virtual try-ons result in 50% fewer returns, according to an article in Business Insider. And, according to other press reports, IKEA is experiencing a 2.3x higher conversion with an AR room visualizer, Amazon an 85% user confidence boost with virtual shoe try-ons, Shopify a 29% rise in customer satisfaction with personalized AR and H&M a 42% boost in add-to-cart rates with its virtual showroom. These experiences are being enabled by the development of easy-to-use XR interfaces that help agencies develop campaigns for big brands, says Pedro Jardim. His company anitya offers just that: a low-code platform for building and sharing immersive 3D experiences. https://lnkd.in/grzsRtVm

Proud to announce the official launch of The Motwani Jadeja Foundation's India-Israel Innovation Corridor project, which I am helping to lead. As a first step the Foundation is enabling Dual Use Robust India Israel High-Tech Innovation or DRISHTI for short, a collaboration between Israel's DDR&D (MAFAT) - Directorate of Defense Research & Development and the T-Hub accelerator in Hyderabad. DRISHTI, derived from the Sanskrit word for "vision" or "insight" reflects the programs mission to provide a forward-looking platform for innovation and strategic partnerships between India and Israel focused on dual-use technologies such as #AI, #robotics and #drones. DRISHTI encompasses three key pillars: a Center of Excellence in Hyderabad the Foundation is setting up to enable cross-border partnerships and provide market entry support for Israeli startups in India; an India Market Access Program (IMAP) to equip startups with a go-to-market strategy and facilitate business connections; and high-profile networking events to bring together startups, industry leaders, and delegations from both nations. The Israeli companies participating in DRISHTI will additionally benefit from the Foundation’s strong connections in Silicon Valley. Foundation Founder Asha Jadeja's vision is to build an innovation triangle between #Israel, #India and the #US.
