🚨Central Africa Air Connectivity 2024 Analysis✈️ As part of the #AirConnectivityAfrica series, I explored the Central Africa region to highlight the current state of air connectivity. Central Africa remains one of the least connected regions in Africa for intra-regional flights, lagging behind both Eastern and Western Africa. With only about 141 scheduled flights within Central Africa—compared to 994 in Eastern Africa and 735 in West Africa—the gap is significant. Here are some key insights: ✈️ The busiest route in the region is between Douala (DLA) & Malabo (SSG), with 9 weekly flights. ✈️ Libreville (LBV), Gabon is the most connected city, with direct flights to 7 cities. ✈️Afrijet Business Service leads the region with a 40.4% share of all flight frequencies. ✈️ On the cost of travel: 10 out of 11 cities in this region impose Airport Passenger Service Charges above the continental average of USD 48. Similarly, landing charges are significantly higher compared to other regions.
