The second extracted single from blink-182’s 8th studio album is a short 49 seconds song that features a comeback to Travis Barker’s fast drums. Contrary to popular belief, of this song being about fans who are critical of their new sound, the track sees Hoppus meditating on a heated argument he had with his son and seeing how the age gap between the two has led to a “generational divide”.

Originally that song was much longer and it had a whole 3-minute song in front of it that was kind of inspired by The Beatles and it changes time signatures from 4/4 to ¾ and was kind of inspired by a song called “She’s Leaving Home” by The Beatles. And it’s actually a song I wrote after I got in an argument with my son who I was sitting next to. And then, ramped up pretty fast and played “Generational Divide”, we liked the ‘generational divide’ part so much that we just kinda left off the first three minutes of the song.
