About
This interlude skit features leader Kim Namjoon’s (RM) acceptance speech on behalf of BTS for receiving the Top Social Artist Award at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards. This was a significant landmark not only for BTS but for the influence of K-pop on the global stage. It is the first time any K-pop group has received a Billboard award, and the speech’s inclusion in the album serves as a token of the group’s gratitude to their fans for bringing a dream like this to reality.

In an Vlive by RM, one of the members of BTS, he said:
When I met up with my friends they showed [the speech] to me. They showed me the video clip of me. They showed me, saying, “Hey, I saw your interview.” I begged them not to play it. I felt really embarrassed.
I don’t know how I did it. […] I saw my speech only once. I looked quite relaxed and confident, but in fact I was super nervous. I thought, what if we really get the award? I thought about what I should say briefly in case we won. I’m glad I spoke well on stage. […] When I came off stage, my legs were shaking. In the behind footage we all embraced each other. […] Two members cried. […] I got teary eyed.
J-Hope made a cameo in the vlive, and RM said:
When we saw the paper, you [J-Hope] were like, “Man, seriously. Is this for real?” You said, “We’ve really come a long way.”
After J-Hope left, RM continued:
It was really amazing to see the celebrities we saw on YouTube. They clapped their hands for us, and I was really grateful.
He also spoke in English for the international fans, saying:
We never expected so many fans in the arena, because it was America. There were amazing artists, top artists in the world like Drake, Miley Cyrus, The Chainsmokers, Halsey. […] You guys, there were so many [of you] in the stadium. When we got the award, you were screaming, “Yay! BTS!” Those screaming and those noise and shouting was the reason I couldn’t feel so nervous on the stage. That’s how I could end my speech safely, not forgetting all the words. So, I’d like to be grateful.
[…] All the ARMY, and all the audiences in the arena and outside. Thanks so much. I heard that it was so hot in Vegas. It was like 35 degrees celsius. […] I heard you guys were waiting for the magenta carpet from dawn, like 5 am. I cannot imagine that. Are you okay?
Thank you so much for everything, like for the BBMAs, Hot 100, iTunes, US and UK charts. Thank you. Hope you guys feel it.
