Intro (Genesis) Lyrics

[Part One: CEO Interlude]

[*Phone rings twice, then is picked up*]

[Interlude: Busta Rhymes & Clive Davis]
Ayo, what up?
Hey, Busta
Man, what up Clive?
Look, the time is right now
Okay
You've got a ridiculous album
Right
It's hot to death
Thank you, hehe
Now we just gotta press it up and hit the streets
No doubt
Busta?
Yeah?
I got some words of advice
And what's that Clive?
Keep it gutta
Right
Keep it grimey
No question
One
A-hah! One? Hehehehe...
It's Clive Davis y'all, E-hehehehe... One, hehehe
No question, le-, let's, let's get straight to it
[Part Two: Dolemite Interlude]

[Interlude: Dolemite]
Well, Busta Rhymes
It's been a long time since you've had a good talkin' to
And the last time I gave you my blessings
I told ya, you was gonna encounter a lot of niggas and bitches
Tryin' to get into yo' shit
Well, you've come a long ways
Since me, the bad ass Dolemite, paid you a visit
And even up to this point
You ain't seen shit yet
From what I understand
You done built you a brand new home
So this time around
Before you welcome these motherfuckers in yo' shit
Make sure they know the rules
Rule Number 1:
Busta Rhyme is your name
And breakin' motherfuckers down
Is yo' game
Rule Number 2:
As you continue to give it to 'em raw
Before they come into your house
Make sure they wipe they feet
At the motherfuckin' door!
Rule Number 3:
Before these niggas misconceive you as a prankster
Make sure these motherfuckers respect yo' gangsta
Now, movin' right along
As you enter this new place in your growth
Like I told you before:
Keep slappin' dick in the mouth of these bitches
That don't wanna act right
And put a hot one in any motherfucker
That tries to get in the way of this power move shit right here
Alright Busta, enough with this shit talkin'
Let's welcome these motherfuckers into the Genesis
Alright baby
Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go!

Genius Annotation

This is the intro to Busta Rhymes' 1st venture on his new label, J Records, and his 5th studio album overall, Genesis. Like many Busta intros before it, this one consists of two different parts.

In part 1, we have a phone call taking place between Busta and the head of his new label, Clive Davis, who hypes up the album spectacularly, calling it “ridiculous”.

The 2nd part actually has a beat, produced by Nottz, a frequent collaborator of Busta. It features Rudy Ray Moore in his Dolomite persona, advising Busta on what he should do to “these motherfuckers” in order to make them respect him. This part calls back to part of the intro to Busta’s 2nd album, “When Disaster Strikes…”, where Dolemite gives him similar words of advice. Parts of that intro are in fact referenced here – “keep slappin' dick in the mouth of these bitches” (to name one).

The intro marks a new point in Busta’s career – he is no longer focusing on the end of the world, as he did for the last four releases. On this album, he is simply having fun with the music, and not trying to look into it too deeply. The production on the track signifies this – compared with the beat Dolemite spoke over on “When Disaster Strikes…”, this one is a lot more upbeat and triumphant.
