Black Crimes Lyrics
"Love" crimes, high cost
We're doing time
We're sentenced to life
"Love" crimes, high cost
And we're doing time
When you've lost, and you've lied
You're sentenced to life, to life
True life, loved and loss
[Chorus]
All these "love" crimes
All these "love" crimes
All these "love" crimes
[Verse 2]
They don't realize
This "love" is murder
Bullets, they fly
This is "love" crimes
[Chorus]
This is "love" crimes
This is "love" crimes
This is "love" crimes
True hearts, so lost
Broken and denounced
They long to fit
Instead, they're beat up
[Verse 4]
"Love" crimes, high cost
We're doing time
We're sentenced to life
"Love" crimes, high cost
We're doing time
We're sentenced to life
[Interlude]
True hearts, so long
True hearts, so long
True hearts, so long
True hearts, so long
[Outro]
All these "love" crimes

[I was] just trying to understand how people call things hate crimes, when they seem to love to do it so often. It’s more like love crimes to me and so that question of “why is your love seem so hateful?”…I was just asking that, because at the time because cops were killing people of colour like popping candy and now to see it on a whole another level of just people in general, the amount of love to push and be against to raise such bigotry, hatred and sexism. I mean that raises such a bit question, I just don’t understand the perspective and I would like to really understand why it is they seeing it in that perspective.
