I Got the Feelin’ Lyrics
[Intro]
Uh huh huh huh
I got the feelin'!
Baby, baby
I got the feelin'!
[Verse 1]
You don't know what you do to me
Leave my heart heavy, down in misery
[Pre-Chorus]
Hey, yeah, alright
Hey, hey, ow! Good lord
[Chorus]
I got the feelin', now
Alright
[Post-Chorus]
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby
I got the feelin', baby
Uh huh huh huh
I got the feelin'!
Baby, baby
I got the feelin'!
[Verse 1]
You don't know what you do to me
Leave my heart heavy, down in misery
[Pre-Chorus]
Hey, yeah, alright
Hey, hey, ow! Good lord
[Chorus]
I got the feelin', now
Alright
[Post-Chorus]
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby
I got the feelin', baby
[Verse 2]
Baby, sometimes I'm up, sometimes I'm down
My heart, I'm around the town
I'm level with the ground, baby
I said level with the ground
[Pre-Chorus]
Well baby, you treat me
You treat me bad
No, no, I know no
You don't mean it now
[Verse 3]
Sometimes I roam
But, I'll be coming back home
Sometimes, I seem to be fly
I just don't want you to say, "bye bye"
[Pre-Chorus]
Hey baby, baby
Uh uh OH!
[Chorus]
Baby, I got that feelin'
Baby can't help it
Alright
Baby, sometimes I'm up, sometimes I'm down
My heart, I'm around the town
I'm level with the ground, baby
I said level with the ground
[Pre-Chorus]
Well baby, you treat me
You treat me bad
No, no, I know no
You don't mean it now
[Verse 3]
Sometimes I roam
But, I'll be coming back home
Sometimes, I seem to be fly
I just don't want you to say, "bye bye"
[Pre-Chorus]
Hey baby, baby
Uh uh OH!
[Chorus]
Baby, I got that feelin'
Baby can't help it
Alright
[Post-Chorus]
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby
Come on now
Come on now
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby
Come on now
Come on now
Oh, oh, oh, oh
About
Genius Annotation
“I Got the Feelin'” is the first single and titular track from James Brown’s 23rd studio album of the same name.
One of his most popular singles in the late 60’s it helped to cement his title of “Soul Brother No. 1”.
Around this time Brown adopted a new style of singing that was more rhythmic and less focused on pitch and melody. This would become a major influence on rapping in the decades that followed.
