Room for Happiness Lyrics
Influence, influence, influence, influence
[Verse 1]
Sometimes I wish I never felt
The influence of you
'Cause now I feel the disconnect
Like an open wound
[Pre-Chorus]
Where you once were there is a space
That runs as deep as hell
But every morning when I wake
I tell myself
[Chorus]
Don't be fooled by your emptiness
There's so much more room for happiness
Yeah, yeah
Don't be fooled by your emptiness
There's so much more room for happiness
Yeah, yeah, yeah
[Verse 2]
Sometimes it's worse to have lost
Than to have never had at all
'Cause it's a curse to feel love
Then to feel it all dissolve
Where you once were there is a space
That runs as deep as hell
But every morning when I wake
I tell myself
[Chorus]
Don't be fooled by your emptiness
There's so much more room for happiness
Yeah, yeah
Don't be fooled by your emptiness
There's so much more room for happiness
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Don't be fooled by your emptiness
There's so much more room for happiness
Yeah, yeah
Don't be fooled by your emptiness
There's so much more room for happiness
Yeah
[Bridge]
Oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh, oh-oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh
Oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh, oh-oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh
(Oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh, oh-oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh)
(Oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh, oh-oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh)
(Oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh, oh-oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh)
(Oh-oh)
(Oh-oh)
Yeah (Oh-oh), yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
About
Renowed singer and songwriter Skylar Grey teams up with the superstar DJ and producer Kaskade for an emotional song about a love that no longer is there – but that shouldn’t bring you down, because that void can always be filled with happiness.
In an interview with fuse, Kaskade tells how “Room for Happiness” came to be:
She’s [Skylar Grey] is a massive talent. […] I didn’t know much about her, and I just kinda reached out to her, she lives not too far from my studio; I mean, it just happened to be really convenient. […] So we just hung out and kept pitching ideas, like “hey, what do you think of this song?” or “what do you think of that?” and eventually one of them clicked and she wrote Room For Happiness, and it came up really nicely.
In the same interview, Kaskade brings up how Fire & Ice came to have two different versions of the same song, and how “Room for Happiness” was no different:
With “Room for Happiness” it just worked out particularly nice. I mean, that song is so beautiful that I stripped away all the way energy and sound production and got really down to the basics of the song, and that one for whatever reason really stands out. Probably because of her [Skylar] performance, it’s so amazing, it’s a beautiful song.
“Room for Happiness” is the final track of Kaskade’s Fire disc on his seventh album, Fire & Ice.
