Woman Up Lyrics

[Intro]
Woman up
Woman up
Woman up, up, woman up
Woman up, up, up
Woman up, up-up-up-up

[Verse 1]
Put your favorite heels on
'Cause they make you feel strong
When you're lookin' good
You know you're gonna have a good time
Don't forget mascara
And to keep your head up
Like Madonna would
Wear a lipstick redder than wine

[Pre-Chorus]
So let's go
Roll your bumper and wine slow
Show the world you can shine, glow
'Cause you got the light now, you got the light now, ow

[Chorus]
All my girls, raise your hand
If you don't need a man
'Cause you're more than good enough
You gotta woman up, woman up
Don't matter what you been through
Just make them remember you
This one's for all my girls
My girls who woman up, woman up
[Post-Chorus]
Mhm (Woman up, woman up)
Mwah (Woman up, woman up)
Mhm (Woman up, woman up)
Mwah

[Verse 2]
When you wear your hair down
It's like you're wearin' your crown
Wave to the crowd and
Give 'em all a wink 'cause you're fine

[Pre-Chorus]
So let's go (So, ladies)
Roll your bumper and wine slow (Wine slow, wine slow)
Show the world you can shine, glow (You can shine, glow)
'Cause you got the light now, you got the light now (Hey, hey)
So let's go
Roll your bumper and wine slow (Wine slow)
Show the world you can shine, glow
'Cause you got the light now, you got the light now, ow

[Chorus]
All my girls, raise your hands (Raise your hands)
If you don't need a man (Don't need a man)
'Cause you're more than good enough (Oh)
You gotta woman up, woman up
Don't matter what you been through (No)
Just make them remember you (Make them remember you)
This one's for all my girls
My girls who woman up, woman up
[Post-Chorus]
Mhm (Woman up, woman up)
Mwah (Woman up, woman up)
Mhm (Woman up, woman up)
Mwah (Yeah)

[Bridge]
All my girls, raise your hands (Raise your hands)
If you don't need a man (Time to take a stand, mhm)
(Woman up, woman up)
Don't matter what you been through (No)
Just make them remember you (Remember you)
All my girls (Woman up, woman up)

[Pre-Chorus]
So let's go
Roll your bumper and wine slow (Oh)
Show the world you can shine, glow
'Cause you got the light now, you got the light now
So, ladies, let's go
Roll your bumper and wine slow (Yeah)

What did Meghan Trainor say about "Woman Up"?
Genius Answer

This is another song that I did with the guys who I did “Kindly Calm Me Down” with in new York City – The Elev3n. “Woman Up” is a song that I’ve heard for a long time. It was originally written and conducted for another artist in the UK and when I heard it, I said, “Can I please send that demo for you?” when I was only 18 years old. Then, years later, I said, “Whatever happened to that song” and they said that it went out. I replied “Can I re-write the verses and re-write it for my album?” and they said “Why not?”. Eventually, we wrote it along with Taylor Parks and it is one of my favorite songs that I know I’m going to start my tour with. It is a very empowering woman up song about when you get dumped by a man, don’t just sit at home feeling sorry for yourself – put some heels on and let’s go out – woman up.
