Nobody Lyrics
[Chorus]
Nobody tell me you don't love me, babe
They just don't know that you're an angel
Ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
Nobody tell me you don't love me, babe
[Verse 1]
Now, the way we look and the way we're dressed
It may make some people frown
They don't understand our bag
Want to put us down
[Chorus]
They just don't know that you're an angel
Ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
Nobody tell me you don't love me, baby
[Instrumental Break]
[Verse 2]
All the squares keep talkin' 'bout you, baby
Don't you know, now, talk is cheap, yeah?
Found a love gonna last forever
That's one we're gonna keep, yeah
[Chorus]
They just don't know that you're an angel
Good God, good God, yeah, love, yeah
Nobody tell me you don't love me, baby
Nobody tell me you don't love me, babe
They just don't know that you're an angel
Ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
Nobody tell me you don't love me, babe
[Verse 1]
Now, the way we look and the way we're dressed
It may make some people frown

[Outro]
No, nobody, no, nobody
(Nobody) No, nobody, no, nobody
(Nobody) No, nobody, no, no
Nobody, nobody
No, nobody, no, nobody
(Nobody) No, nobody, no, nobody
(Nobody) No, nobody, no, no
Nobody, nobody

Genius Annotation
Written by Beth Beatty, Ernie Shelby, and Dick Cooper, the song was originally released by Larry Williams (Bony Maronie) and Johnny “Guitar” Watson on the Okeh record label, and was released in 1967. There are a number of curiosities about this record.
The band on the recording is The Kaleidoscope who had a hit with “Killing Floor (Tempe Arizona)” in 1969. This band featured multi-instrumentalist David Lindley.
Another interesting note is that the flip side is “Find Someone to Love” which TDN also covered on the debut release.
TDN’s version of “Nobody” is quite similar to Williams' & Watson’s, yet with more rock intensity.
