“Betrayal” sees Trippie Redd recruit Canadian all-star, Drake, for their first-ever collaboration. Originally, the two were set to collaborate on Drake’s January 2018 smash hit, “God’s Plan,” but due to unfortunate sickness and a blown deadline, Trippie missed out.
Speculation surrounding the track started in July 2021, as some fans speculated that Trippie Redd was going to appear on Drake’s next album Certified Lover Boy, but all rumors were shut down with the official tracklist announcement.
While the album released on August 20th, 2021, “Betrayal” didn’t appear on streaming platforms. Trippie would go on to tease a snippet of the song in an Instagram post the very same day, captioning the post:

The song would release a day later, on August 21, 2021, as part of Trippie’s Trip At Knight (Complete Edition).
