About “KIRK”

KIRK is North Carolina rapper DaBaby’s second studio album. This project is the follow-up to his critically acclaimed debut album, Baby on Baby, which was released on March 1st, 2019. The project is released through Interscope Records.

On August 26th, 2019, DaBaby revealed the title of his album, which he discussed the meaning of with 16 Bars:

Kirk, my last name, it holds big weight. It’s all about confidence, being a leader. It’s going to be the title of my new album, too, by the way.

A day later, it was revealed that the album was completed and submitted to streaming services for a future release.

During an interview with Charlie Sloth on August 1st, 2019, he revealed that the album was coming in “three to four weeks.” He also revealed that he had features from all three Migos members and Chance The Rapper.

On September 19th, 2019, DaBaby released the intro track to the album as the first promotional single for the album.

On September 24th, 2019, DaBaby released the cover art for KIRK via an Instagram post as well as the tracklisting and features on the record on streaming services. In addition to the features he mentioned above, he was also able to secure guest spots from Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby, Gucci Mane, and more.
