Jay Watson (born May 27, 1990) is a member of two superb bands from Perth, Australia—he tours with songwriter/producer Kevin Parker as Tame Impala’s keyboardist (and filled the band’s original drummer position), and is also one of the three founding members of Pond, with whom he can be found contributing guitar, vocals, drums, bass, keys and synth, as well as some mixing and production. As of 2023, Pond has released nine studio albums, all of which prominently feature Watson.
In addition to his duties with both bands as well as his duties as a husband and father, Watson somehow finds the time to write, record, and produce his own solo material under the GUM moniker, having released five studio albums since 2014.
