Samuel Wellings (born November 24, 1997), known professionally as kim dracula, is an Australian artist residing from Hobart, Tasmania. They are known both for their original work and for metal covers of songs not typically associated with the original genre.
Kim was previously known as the vocalist of the Australian heavy metal band Jesterpose, which formed in 2017. The band released the EP, COVID-19 in 2020. Kim would also post their original work onto their SoundCloud page.
In November 2020, Kim released a TikTok metal cover of the song “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga. The song would then see an official release on December 11, 2020, to which it gained huge success through the social media platform. The runaway success of the song propelled Kim Dracula to become the fourth-most followed Australian TikTok musical artist of that year. Celebrating the milestone, Kim uploaded a celebratory video, alongside with the hint of the future of their musical career:

Entering into 2021, Kim would collaborate with SosMula of City Morgue on the track “VINNY ROTTEN,” off of Mula’s debut mixtape, 13 SONGS 2 DIE 2. The two would collaborate two years later on the track, “Death Before Designer,” released on June 9, 2023.
By April 2021, Kim Dracula’s “Paparazzi” would continue to gain plays overtime, which led to Kim ascending to become the second most followed Australian TikTok musical artist, with only Sia having more followers.
Kim would then begin to release a body of their newer work, with releases such as “Make Me Famous,” “Seventy Thorns” with Jonathan Davis, and “Drown.” All of these songs would gain positive feedback from fans and critics. These singles would then end up on Kim Dracula’s debut studio album, A Gradual Decline In Morale, which released on July 14, 2023, after two years in the making.
