Life in the Early Years and Education:
Before coming to the United States and finishing his education at Hillcrest High School, Chad’s early years were spent in St. Andrew, where he attended Vaz Preparatory and St. Georges College. But his extracurricular musical activities were what really shaped his formative years. Chad was drawn to the beats and rhythms that would eventually define his profession at a very young age.

The Spark of a Lifelong Passion:
Chad’s career in the music industry started when he was just 12 years old, hanging around as a selector with the Mighty Emperor Sound system. Chad moved to the USA when he was 14 years old, where he worked as a selector in New York City for Super Force, Pretty Passe, and Nita Tone Sounds.
Through these early encounters, Chad was able to fully immerse himself in the thriving music environments of Florida (where he eventually interned at Sunshine Records and joined Emperor Star Sound) and New York.

Sunshine Records and Production Techniques:
Chad’s career took a significant shift during his tenure with Sunshine Records. Chad was introduced to the world of recording and mixing while working closely with Bunny Rugs of the renowned Third World Band. During this time, he was able to change his career from selector to producer, and he developed a fascination for the producing aspect of music. As Chad became more knowledgeable about sound engineering and the workings of the mixing board, he came to see that producing music was more than simply a profession; it was his vocation.

Going Back to Jamaica: A Reggae Homecoming:
When Chad returned to Jamaica after acquiring a lot of experience in the States, Bunny Rugs recommended him to Mikey Bennett, a well-known name in the reggae music scene. After being introduced, Chad worked with Bennett for three years as his personal engineer, a position that allowed him to hone his abilities and appreciate the rich cultural legacy of reggae music. Chad’s love for reggae intensified during this period, motivating him to compose his first rhythm, the Digital B rhythm. His eagerness to add to the reggae genre and his growing talent were both evident in this effort.

Constructing a Legacy and Establishing a Home Studio:
Chad decided to construct his own home studio since he was not happy working in just any old studio. His private area turned into an idea laboratory where he learnt the craft of mixing and recording. Chad was able to explore his artistic limits in the home studio and work with some of the biggest names in dancehall and reggae, including as Ken Boothe, Perfect, Lutan Fyah, Sizzla, and Teflon. These partnerships affirmed Chad’s standing as a flexible and creative producer while also showcasing his engineering prowess.

The Artist and the Farmer:
Chad is passionate about farming and environmental conservation in addition to music. He has a small farm where he grows a variety of foods that he sells to market vendors and neighbour’s in addition to his job in the music industry. Chad’s attachment to the land is a reflection of his dedication to sustainability and his wish to make a variety of constructive contributions to his community.
