Youjoung (유정) is a South Korean singer. She is a former member of the K-Pop girl groups BBGIRLS & Brave Girls.
On February 2nd, 2016, it was announced that Brave Girls would be adding her, alongside Minyoung, Eunji, Yuna, and Hayun as new members of the group after their two year hiatus.
Originally as “Yujeong”, she made her official debut as a member of Brave Girls on February 16th, 2016 with the group’s third digital single “Deepened”.
In October 2017, she, alongside fellow member Eunji, became a contestant on the rebooting project show The Unit. She was eliminated in episode 11 after ranking 37th place.
On February 16th, 2023, Brave Entertainment announced that Brave Girls would conclude their official activities under the agency after all the members decided not to renew their contracts.
On April 27th, 2023, Warner Music Korea announced that she, alongside Minyoung, Eunji, and Yuna, had signed exclusive contracts with the agency to continue activities as a group. On May 3rd, 2023, it was announced that the group had changed their name to ‘BBGIRLS’ due to their previous agency, Brave Entertainment, owning the trademark for the ‘Brave Girls’ name. Yujeong had also changed her stage name to Youjoung after signing with Warner Music Korea.
On April 22nd, 2024, Warner Music Korea announced that BBGIRLS would be leaving the agency after their contract had expired.
Later that day, it was revealed that the group had established their own agency BBGIRLS Company, and will be continuing as a trio, confirming Youjoung’s departure from the group.
