CoSteer improves the quality of society by improving businesses. CoSteer delivers real-time data that gives organisations - the right insight, tools, resources and support to understand which lever should you as an organisation pull to maximise your overall performance and growth across all levels. CoSteer does this through their proprietary technology GOVindicia - through the power of AI and machine learning - behavioural science and evolutionary psychology - and some clever mathematics! We see organisation as a 'complex system' - Organisations and their outcomes are inherently unpredictable and complex by nature. They are interconnected and hold strong relationships as to how one factor can influence or drive the rest of other factors into an organisation - just like Chaos Theory. This is where we understand the real power of systems thinking takes hold and aspects of an organisation, such as agility, collaboration and resilience are more useful. What if there was a way in which we could understand and influence the resilience or agility of an organisation, therefore understanding - how they have an impact on various intricacies of an organisation system. This is what we do! (well, a glimpse of what we do!) Turning organisations into murmurations.

  • As the new year begins and our continued insistence towards productivity and performance rises, we perhaps need to reflect more deeply. Let's not forget that productivity and performance isn't always what might appear obvious. More than we often give it credit, it's intangible, emergent and on a continuum. That is not to say we shouldn't continually strive to do good or even better - but in fact the opposite it is something that allows us to see productivity and performance through a wide lens - where things like pausing to reflect or having a phone call with a loved one is seen as a driver to maximise what you do. Productivity isn't doing more in less time Productivity is using time consciously, prioritising effectively, and acknowledging if not embracing the fact that you're not gonna get it all done today. #productivity #performance #work #culture #growth #people

    Do you make decisions in your life? When you're at work, do you make decisions and choices? Most of us would say we do - so, we're all practicing the art of governance. ⭕️ governance is both the responsibility and accountability of the board/leadership, but it's also the responsibility of everyone else in the organisation - we all steer because we all make decisions For too long the domain of governance has remained hugely tilted towards it being a board/leadership activity/responsibility. If we broaden our view just slightly, we can be open to the idea that governance is a thing we all do - we all do it. That's because in its simplest form governance is making the best choices, doing them well and all for the right reasons. Imagine an organisation where everyone did this, everyday, and all of the time! This would be an organisation with good governance. The trouble with the current top heavy approach is that those who are suggested to be accountable [the board] keep it to themselves, and in reality many do not really understand it - it's a bit of a dark art. And those of us throughout the organisation are told it's not for us, it's a board 'thing', thus creating separation and an absolving of responsibility. No-one is really leading it, no-one really knows what it is, and it's held tightly by a small group often removed and somewhat aloof. Governance is for everyone. Once we embrace this perspective it begins to unleash its power. It becomes the true force for good that it is capable of being, breathing ethical decision-making throughout an organisation with an openness and transparency.     Governance has lost its direction... ...don't think that the irony here is lost on me [given that governance is all about setting and then charting the direction of an organisation - and it means 'to steer' 😅 !] But we are totally in the wrong ball-park [metaphors flying out the door] How about these 5 for starters 🤔 ⭕️ governance is not compliance, and compliance is not governance - they are two separate things - they may interconnect and interrelate, but they are two very distinct things ⭕️ governance is not just about processes and frameworks, it's in fact primarily about people - this is why organisational/board culture is so critical to the quality of governance ⭕️ governance is both the responsibility and accountability of the board/leadership, but it's also the responsibility of everyone else in the organisation - we all steer because we all make decisions ⭕️ governance is complex not complicated - There are few linear relationships that exist in the practice that we call governance - if you do 'x' then 'y' will happen is not an intelligent way of observing governance - it simply doesn't work like that ⭕️ governance is easily measured by codifying and then using 'comply' and/or 'explain' to observe quality against that codification - measuring governance has to look much more deeply and through lenses of systems thinking and human behaviour otherwise we might as well shoot in the dark Goodness...I wanted to go on and on 😂 Over the next fews days I'm going to - not quite so sensitively - put my position stance up against these challenges and misconceptions Governance has the power to be the most transformative element in every organisation, if we just give it a chance For goodness sake give it the credit is deserves! #governance #systemsthinking #governanceisnotcompliance #misconceptions _______________ I'm Perrin, and I'm defending governance with my heart and soul The governance of organisations is beautifully complex and our technology, work and research at CoSteer® is supporting courageous leaders who are no longer deliberating, but are willing to step towards this type of governance.
