#COP29: CO2 emissions hit new high as climate action slows Despite the urgent need to reduce carbon in the atmosphere to slow climate change, fossil fuel emissions are still rising, say scientists. Climate action effects have also 'flat-lined. Note: 2024 is already predicted to be the hottest year on record.
