*START-UP RIGHT SEMINAR* CITSA-UCC has organised a seminar to brief the students of the department on the courses they will be taking during the semester. That is; 1. What the courses entail 2. How assessments are conducted 3. Materials to resort to 4. Possible decisions you're liable to make and their potential consequences 5. Gist on exam preps and what to expect 6. Some Dos and Don'ts in those courses 7. And answer their questions and clear any doubt they may have come across already. This is how it will be done: 1. Every level will have seniors *(academically good students who just passed that level)* to facilitate each class. Example: About 3-5 CS 300 students will facilitate CS 200 class. 2. Review of His Excellency Maxwell Adinavi's Leadership as President of CITSA During his tenure as President of the Computer Science and Information Technology Student Association (CITSA) from August 2023 to August 2024, His Excellency Maxwell Adinavi showcased exceptional leadership and commitment to enhancing the student experience for over 2,100 members of the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Cape Coast. Maxwell's administration was marked by numerous key initiatives and accomplishments: Legacy Projects: Spearheaded the procurement of two projectors for the department, significantly enhancing teaching and learning experiences. Career Development: Secured National Service slots and internship opportunities in collaboration with faculty members, ensuring students gained valuable real-world experience. Alumni Engagement: Launched the Alumni Connect platform, fostering mentorship and resource-sharing between past and present students, which strengthened community ties. Honoring Faculty: Recognized and honored dedicated faculty members for their invaluable contributions, reinforcing the importance of collaboration between students and staff. Professional Development: Organized a series of workshops and seminars, including GitHub 101 and Cybercombat Threat, equipping members with essential skills for their careers. Association Growth: Expanded CITSA by establishing new clubs, such as the Photography Club and the Database Administrator Club, catering to diverse interests within the student body. CITSA Welfare Initiative: Introduced a food bank that provided 33 packages to needy students, demonstrating support for peers during challenging times. CITSA Champions League: Organized the first-ever CITSA Champions League, enhancing community spirit through sports by procuring footballs and cards for the association. Document Registration Assistance: Collaborated with Success Consult to organize birth and passport registration drives, helping members secure essential documents. Study Abroad Seminar: Facilitated a seminar guiding members on study abroad opportunities, expanding their horizons for academic advancement. Celebratory Week: Coordinated a week-long celebration filled with seminars, a movie night, and a fun trip to Nzulenzu, promoting camaraderie and relaxation among members. Social Media Growth: Enhanced CITSA’s online presence by expanding social media followership, fostering greater engagement with the community. Academic Support: Organized tutorial sessions for students facing academic challenges, courtesy of the CITSA Academic Committee. Learning Resource Access: Created a WhatsApp platform for CITSA members, providing access to free courses and resources for skill development.
