📚 According to UNESCO, 42% of Ghana's adult population is illiterate, with about 50% of women unable to read or write, compared to 33% of men. Unfortunately, this challenge is also reflected in the communities we serve. In fact, 4 out of 5 children we work with are either unable to read, performing below grade level, or don’t know their alphabets. At Fafali, we are tackling this issue head-on with our Literacy Program, which provides personalized learning support. We offer one-on-one and small-group sessions (1:5 teacher-student ratio) to give children the focused attention they need to thrive. In communities already burdened by poverty and social inequality, literacy is a key tool for breaking the cycle. Our program is empowering the next generation with the power of words to change their world.
