About us
The Forum for Agricultural research in Africa (FARA) is an apex organization bringing together and forming coalitions of major stakeholders in agricultural research and development. FARA complements the innovative activities of national, international and sub-regional research institutions to deliver more responsive and effective services to its stakeholders. It plays advocacy and coordination roles for agricultural research for development, while the national agricultural research systems (NARS), advanced research institutions (ARIs) and international agricultural research centres (IARCs) develop improved technologies along the research-to-development continuum in their respective countries and coverage areas. FARA’s Vision: Our Vision is that Africa becomes a food and nutrition secure continent by connecting science to agricultural livelihoods through partnerships. ⏳ Workshop in Progress: CORAF | West and Central Africa for Agricultural Research and Development & FAO drive Agricultural Research Indicators! From November 25 to 27, 2024, #CORAF and #FAO co-host a Regional Workshop on Agricultural Science and Technology Indicators (ASTI) in Accra, Ghana 🇬🇭. 🎯 Objective: This workshop introduces new approaches for collecting and analyzing agricultural research data, aiming to institutionalize the ASTI program in national statistical systems.
