On Saturday, GDG Accra, a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) with the Office of the Registrar of Companies and licensed by the Department of Social Welfare under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection - Ghana, proudly donated two laptops to support Cynthia Owusu's community-driven tech initiative. This initiative is dedicated to equipping children with essential technological skills, empowering them with the knowledge they need to shape their futures and succeed in an increasingly digital world. GDG Accra (Google Developer Groups Accra) is a community of tech enthusiasts and professionals focused on fostering innovation and learning. Through events, workshops, and hackathons, we bring together individuals to share knowledge and develop skills in various tech fields. Our mission in Accra and across Ghana is to empower individuals through technology, with a particular focus on Google products, while bridging the digital divide. As a doctor that listens to your symptoms, provides a diagnosis, recommends a treatment, schedules appointments with healthcare experts, and sends regular reminders.    2. As a customer service agent who can reserve a restaurant table, book a hotel room, or assist with your online shopping.    3. As a personal advisor offering insights on topics like relationships, finance, or general life advice.    4. As a representative from institutions like banks, insurance companies, or schools, providing information on your account or general inquiries.    5. As a controller for IoT devices, allowing you to manage your home appliances offline when there’s no internet. and many more. And best of all, there’s no need for rigid commands—no "Press 1 for this, Press 2 for that." Well, there’s no need to imagine anymore because it’s now a reality—at least for the first scenario! On Thursday, October 24th, 2024, I had an amazing chance to present my research at the IEEE 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 & 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 (𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐓 2024). I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the global conversation on AI in healthcare and its improved patient outcomes. In the research, "𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐔𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬", we investigate the potential of sophisticated algorithms to predict diseases like autoimmune diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, and viral infections. In addition, the platform recommends drugs based on user symptoms and makes it easy for patients to schedule appointments with medical specialists. A unique aspect of this project is the 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐁𝐨𝐭 feature, enabling users to interact with the system through a phone call using speech-to-text-to-speech technology. With this feature, users can call an AI-powered virtual doctor over regular phone call, have a natural conversation just like they would with a human doctor, receive a diagnosis, and even book an appointment—all done offline and without needing to follow commands. This ensures people with limited internet access can benefit from accurate healthcare predictions and recommendations.
