It’s wonderful to see that the "Customer Service Week" is receiving so much attention this week, but what about next week and beyond? And why is it that many hospitality businesses focus solely on their frontline staff when discussing customer service? It's important to highlight the vital role of management teams in hospitality. When they engage directly with guests, they add a personal touch that creates lasting, memorable experiences and strengthens customer loyalty. Their hands-on approach allows for quick problem-solving, leading to faster resolutions and higher guest satisfaction. Additionally, the management team sets the tone for their staff, fostering a culture of excellence throughout the organization. By being actively involved 365 days a year, they can gather direct feedback from guests, remaining innovative and responsive to their needs, ultimately enhancing overall service quality. Customer service is a lifestyle: Embrace service excellence every day! #CustomerServiceWeek #HospitalityExcellence #OHAAFRICA

🌟 Celebrating International Housekeeping Week! 🌟 What an incredible week filled with competitions, recognition, and fun activities for our hardworking housekeeping teams! 🏆🎉 But why limit the appreciation to just one week a year? Let's make it a priority to recognize and value their contributions all year round. And this sentiment extends beyond housekeeping—every team member in the industry deserves continuous recognition and appreciation for their dedication and hard work. 🙌 #TeamAppreciation #HousekeepingHeroes #HospitalityExcellence #EmployeeRecognition #IndustryPride

At OHA AFRICA, we often face the critical question from our partners: “What if we spend all this money for training, and the employee leaves?” The question should rather be: "What happens if we don't invest and they stay"? We firmly believe that investing in the continuous development of team members is crucial, even if it means they might eventually leave. A well-trained, empowered workforce enhances the organizational excellence and drives a culture of innovation and engagement. We’re dedicated to support and encourage growth because it ensures our partners remain dynamic and competitive in a constantly evolving industry. #OHAAFRICA #HospitalityTraining #StaffDevelopment #InvestInPeople

Founder of OHA AFRICA, a Hospitality Consultancy and Training Pioneer | Transforming Hospitality Excellence Through Expert Guidance and Training Solutions
Thank you, Edmund Asamoah, for your insightful article and for highlighting the importance of equipping young talents with the necessary skills to thrive in our industry. At OHA AFRICA Ltd. , we've been strategizing on this issue and have identified several challenges: - Team members in the industry often cannot take time off for training without losing income, additionally most courses come at a fee and additional cost (transport,...) - Many courses are only available in larger cities, limiting access for talents in remote areas, where we have large potential for tourism projects. - Training is not just essential for entry-level positions; all team members, including managers, need continuous skill development. Often, managers are appointed based on trust rather than skills. - Soft skills, which are crucial in the industry, often don't receive the necessary attention in traditional training programs. To address these challenges, we established the Online Hospitality Academy. www.ohaafrica.com Our platform provides access to skills and knowledge for all team members and aspiring professionals with smart phones, accessible anytime and anywhere with an internet connection. Our "Small Bites, Big Impact™" collection offers free micro-learning courses. From investors and operators to managers and training institutions, we have a long journey ahead. As the saying goes, "If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together." Lets walk this path together. #HospitalityIndustry #SkillsDevelopment #OnlineLearning #MicroLearning #HospitalityTraining #OHAfrica #FutureOfWork
FUTURE OF HOSPITALITY IN GHANA - PART 2 The hospitality industry presents a promising solution to Ghana's unemployment challenges. This sector offers a wide range of career opportunities, from managerial roles to front-line positions, making it an inclusive and accessible field for individuals with varying levels of education. Countries like South Africa and Indonesia have successfully positioned themselves as hospitality powerhouses, becoming global trademarks in this industry based on the eperiences they are selling. To harness the potential of the hospitality sector, Ghana should prioritize investments in this industry. This includes constructing world-class facilities that blend with the nation's natural landscapes, maximizing the experiential value for tourists. Additionally, establishing dedicated training centers for the youth will equip them with the necessary skills to excel in this field. By targeting domestic travelers, regional West African visitors and the African diaspora, Ghana can create a robust and diverse customer base.
