On December 18th, Penplusbytes reconvened the coalition of stakeholders dedicated to combating disinformation and misinformation at the Ghana Center For Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) conference room for a debriefing session following the recent general elections. This meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on key issues that arose during the election period and assess critical outliers. While we had anticipated certain challenges, we also took this time to further refine and adapt the South African National Editors’ Forum (SANEF) Elections Disinformation Threat Assessment Tool to better suit the Ghanaian context. In addition, stakeholders discussed the way forward for the coalition, focusing on how we can continue to collaborate and strengthen our efforts in the ongoing fight against disinformation.
