Savana Signatures, in collaboration with PWDs in the Oti Region, conducted audits of over 400 polling stations to ensure inclusivity and accessibility ahead of the 2024 general elections. This milestone followed 8 rounds of training for 320 members of PWD groups and marginalized persons across 8 project districts, using a carefully designed and agreed audit tool. The initiative empowers PWDs with critical information about their polling stations, accessibility, and voting arrangements to enable full, independent participation. Together, we are fostering a more inclusive society for underserved groups. Huge congratulations to the Northern School of Business (NOBISCO) for winning the inaugural Nutrition Challenge organized by Savana Signatures in partnership with the Ghana Health Service and Ghana Education Service . With an impressive score of 97, NOBISCO outperformed strong contenders like Tamale Senior High, Kalpohin Senior High, Tamale Islamic Science Senior High, and Karaga Senior High This exciting quiz competition not only showcased our students' knowledge but also highlighted the importance of locally available nutritious and fortified foods. Way to go, NOBISCO, kudos to all participating schools and better luck next time. This week we continued our campaign against Child, Early and Forced Marriage and Unions (CEFMU) in Northeast, as we partnered with Ghana Health Service, Ghana Education Service, DOVVSU and Social Welfare, to create mindfulness on the negative effects of child marriage and the legal rights of children and adolescents. We met with chiefs, opinion leaders, women leaders, youth, and Child Social Protection Committees to address the problems. The gatekeepers are committing to reviewing social norms that fuel the practice as they acknowledged teenage pregnancy as a key driver of child marriage.
