It was a most humbling moment yesterday to have been decorated by H.E. The President of the Republic of Ghana, with the “State Honour of Grand Medal” as one of several distinguished individuals who were awarded State honours. I was even more humbled by the beautiful citation that came with my medal, recognising my “distinguished public service” and “contributions towards shaping monetary policy and financial governance frameworks at the domestic, regional, and global levels, and engaging with global counterparts with authority and insight to further elevate Ghana’s standing in the international financial community.” I am truly grateful to H.E. the President for the confidence reposed in me over the years, and this high honour conferred on me yesterday. I couldn’t have done this without the support and help of my colleagues at the Bank of Ghana, the many counterparts domestically, regionally, and internationally that I have been blessed to work with, my family, and most importantly the Almighty God whose grace and mercies have sustained me over the past seven years during which I have served as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana navigating choppy waters and turbulent times that the world has faced. As 2024 draws to a close, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude through it all. May 2025 bring us all many blessings and may we all continue to impact our world the best way we know how. I received the national honors and award of the Grand Medal from His Excellency the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, today December 30, 2024, in recognition of my contribution to enhancing the conduct of monetary policy, financial sector regulation, digitalization, and economic development, both in Ghana and globally.
