Last night, I was thrilled to attend the Tech in Ghana VIP and Media Launch at the British High Commissioner’s residence, hosted by H.E. Mrs. Harriet Thompson and Mr. Nick Thompson. The event brought together brilliant minds and leaders in Ghana’s tech scene, offering us an exciting preview of what’s to come at the upcoming Tech in Ghana conference. It was inspiring to see so many passionate individuals committed to driving innovation and development within our tech ecosystem. I’m especially excited for the conference itself, where I, alongside thedsgnjunkies team—a group that has become my creative and professional home—will be sharing what thedsgnjunkies is all about with an audience that cares deeply about tech and design. It’s a unique chance to introduce our community’s vision and our drive to innovators in the design and tech landscape. I look forward to making connections, exchanging ideas, and learning from others in the industry. Being part of thedsgnjunkies is a privilege, and I’m eager to showcase the meaningful work we do. The tech and design community here is something special, and I'm grateful to be part of it!

Reflecting on my journey so far, I’m incredibly grateful for the roles that shaped me and the impact I’ve been able to make. Over the years, I’ve worked with organizations across media and communications, from writing top articles at Face2Face Africa to mentoring students at UniMAC-IJ, where I had the privilege of seeing them thrive and secure scholarships. At Media General, I produced podcasts. From building media relationships to creating strategic digital content for thedsgnjunkies and coordinating impactful community events like the STEM4Girls Summit, my passion for communication, leadership, and innovation remains at the heart of all I do. Ready to make my mark on new, exciting projects! My goal is simple: to leave a meaningful footprint and bring lasting value to every project. I am Dzifa Makafui, and I bring value wherever I go.

Samuel Allotey is an esteemed Product Designer and innovation enthusiast with a rich history of contributing to the design and technology sectors. Samuel's career took a significant leap at adplist.org, where he contributed in designing the platform from the ground up. His contributions were crucial in propelling the company to secure a seed round of $1.3 million in 2021, marking a significant milestone in its journey. His expertise did not stop there; Samuel also crafted the design system for StubHub, the world’s largest and most valuable ticket marketplace, currently valued at over $13 billion. This endeavour further solidified his position as a leading figure in product design. Beyond the corporate sector, Samuel has made substantial contributions to public service projects in Ghana. As the Product Designer, he worked on high-impact projects, including the Ghana.GOV Citizen App, and the ECG PowerApp, amongst others. These projects not only served millions but also showcased Samuel’s ability to blend design with functionality, improving daily lives. In 2021, Samuel co-founded thedsgnjunkies, an initiative aimed at bridging the gap between potential and opportunity and empowering designers within Ghana and Africa.
