We are delighted to announce that three students from the 12th Cohort of our PhD in Plant Breeding Programme have successfully defended their doctoral theses! 🎉 After four years of rigorous training and research, Ms. Abigail Tweneboh Asare, Mr. Adjibogoun Ogougra Akomonla Rodrigue, and Mr. Emmanuel Gilbert Omiat presented the key findings of their studies yesterday. With their Ph.D. defenses completed, the candidates will now await the conferment of their doctorate degrees and will soon join our alumni who are making groundbreaking impact on food security in their respective countries. #WACCI #PhDOralExamination

A team from the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) paid a visit to WACCI. The visit aimed to explore areas of collaboration for mutual benefits to enhance the productivity and sustainability of agricultural systems, as well as strengthen the resilience of food systems in partner countries. Earlier today , as part of the ACE Impact learning visit to the University of Ghana, WACCI hosted representatives from various Agricultural Centres.  Our Founding Prof. Eric Y. Danquah welcomed the delegation and shared insights into the centre’s journey, highlighting key approaches that have contributed to its success over the past 17 years. Dr. Luis Mira da Silva from the World Bank commended WACCI’s leadership for its remarkable achievements in agricultural research and capacity building.
