The Gender Minister endorses the 2025 Ghana Philanthropy Week: The Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey has reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Government of Ghana to advance philanthropy as a pivotal pathway to financing the resources gap in sustainable development. The Minister made this remarks when the Organisers of the Ghana Philanthropy Week(GPW), announced at a courtesy call on her and at her meeting with stakeholders at the Ministry for Gender, Children, and Social Protection. The Minister further endorses the wake up call to securing sustainable resources underscoring the need to elevate philanthropy in Ghana to meet the funding gab on issues of gender, children and social protection. Emphasis was made on developing strong collaborations and providing more inclusive possibilities that empower women and children, ensuring they are integral to the decision-making and developmental initiatives. The 2025 GPW slated for 23rd -28th June, is aimed at Waking-Up and Re-Strategizing Indigenous Philanthropy for sustainable development. The meeting was attending by representatives of the the Center for Strategic Philanthropy and Social Investment(CESPSI), Pentecost University, Women in Philanthropy Ghana, CorpsAfrica, JoysNews Impact Award and other members of the Philanthropy Ghana Coalition.

WiG-Ghana is based at the Centre for Strategic Philanthropy and Social Investment (CESPSI), Pentecost University. Objectives 1. Give visibility to women-led philanthropy organizations 2. Provide transformative opportunities to women-led philanthropy organizations 3. To empower its members to support other women-led Civil Society Organizations(CSOs) 4. To mobilize funds and resources to support the mission of its members and their community initiatives Mission Our mission is to create a community of empowered women in philanthropy and social entrepreneurship, who work together to increase the impact of women-led organizations and improve the lives of women in Ghana and beyond. Vision Our vision is to build a sustainable fund and network that supports the growth of women-led organizations and provides resources, skills training, and grants to increase their impact in their communities.
