Communication isn't just words. Speaking is merely one piece of the puzzle. Employees who actively listen are 40% more likely to get promoted than those who don't. (JBC) At times, communication is even about being silent: ➥ Listening ➥ Understanding, ➥ Reading the other person. It's not magic - it's a skill anyone can develop. Master these 8 essential communication practices: 1. Listen actively. 2. Be clear and concise. 3. Show empathy. 4. Use positive body language. 5. Encourage open feedback. 6. Adapt your style. 7. Follow up. 8. Practice consistently. Transform into a communicator, not just a speaker. ♻️ Please share with your network. 📌 And follow Oliver Aust for more practical tips on leadership communication.

Mastering Constructive Feedback for Leadership Growth Credit to Sean McPheat. Follow for more insightful content. ------ Original post below 👇🏼 Supportive feedback is the leadership equivalent of watering plants. Do it consistently, and watch your team flourish. As a leader and coach, I've learned that mastering feedback is crucial for driving organizational excellence. Here are three challenges I faced: - Balancing honesty with empathy - Overcoming the fear of damaging relationships - Ensuring feedback leads to actionable change These challenges taught me that effective feedback is an art form. It requires emotional intelligence, courage, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Feedback, when done right, strengthens relationships and accelerates growth. To overcome these hurdles, I adopted a three-pronged approach: 1. Implemented the "feedforward" technique from Marshall Goldsmith 2. Practiced the "Go See, Ask Why, Show Respect" principle from Toyota 3. Started the "Play fewer chips" suggestion from Liz Wiseman's Multipliers book For senior leaders, mastering constructive and supportive feedback is non-negotiable. It is essential for building high-performing teams, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. One lesson you can apply today: Before giving feedback, ask yourself, "How can this information help this person grow?" This simple question transforms feedback from a critique into a catalyst for positive change. When your most passionate employees become quiet, it’s a signal that something is out of alignment, and as the leader, this is something you must observe and act on immediately. People don’t lose their motivation and inspiration overnight; it’s always a combination of small and big things that creep into the organization slowly and consistently over time. When you have a team passionate, inspired, and motivated to help the company achieve its vision while fulfilling its purpose, you must do everything in your power to ensure that this team keeps this vibe. Otherwise, you run the risk of pushing away great talent while settling for mediocrity.
