Alfalfa Serres is ready to export Our top dehydrated alfalfa owes its characteristics not only to proteins, carbohydrates and main minerals (Ca, P, K, Mg), but also to its vitamins, especially b-carotene or provitamin A that play an important role in growth mechanisms, cell reproduction and health. Finally, vitamin E and selenium, which have antioxidant effects on cell membranes and prevent neurological disorders. The high nutritional quality of our product is certified by thorough tests performed in laboratories in Greece and abroad. Our bales, facilitate the livestock farmers work with their high specific weight and ease of transport, storage and distribution. The size of our bales is 155x117x77cm, weighing around 530Kg and are packed with either 6 plastic PET strips or PP sleeves with 200gr/m2. The output bales are kept in our warehouse, which is 4,900 square meters and has a capacity of 13,000 tons, with artificial ventilation and complete absence of natural light. Alfalfa Serres belongs to the ITA Group and is the largest factory of dehydrated alfalfa in Greece, with a production capability of more than 27,000 tons of product per year from a cultivation area of 2000 hectares. The cultivation of alfalfa is done in a radius of 20 kilometers around the facilities of the dehydration factory, by experienced growers of the Serres fertile plain, through Contract Farming and with the guidance of experienced agronomists. The dehydration process in our facilities is carried out in a revolutionary way with a "soft" belt dryer that uses a hot air flow below 90 C while maintaining the superior organoleptic properties and the nutritional value of alfalfa. Our bales, facilitate the producer's work with their high specific weight and ease of transport, storage, and distribution. The size of our packages is 120x160x80cm, weighing of 500 Kg per bale. Its composition is 100% Medicago sative and it is GMO-free. No additives or substances are added, and the fiber length is 5 – 10 cm. Finally, the bales are tied with plastic PET straps or PP sleeves.
