Two weeks ago, we hosted as #CircletheMed a high-level Pre-COP29 Online Dialogue that brought together some of the most prominent voices in the global climate movement. Addressing the theme ''Towards COP29 – From the Mediterranean to the Global Stage: Building #ClimateSolidarity for a #SustainableFuture'', renowned international experts and key stakeholders from across the #Mediterranean and beyond engaged in a rich and forward-thinking discussion on the urgent challenges and transformative opportunities in the fight against #climatechange. As the world turns its attention to #COP29 in Baku, this dialogue offers a vital platform for exploring the unique role the Mediterranean region can play in driving global climate action. As the world prepares for #COP29, the #Mediterranean region is emerging as a vital hub for uniting countries in the fight against climate change. We are thrilled to invite you to join us at our pre-COP29 Dialogue, "From the Mediterranean to the Global Stage: Building #ClimateSolidarity for a #SustainableFuture." Organized by #CircletheMed – The Mediterranean Forum, in cooperation with the #SymiSymposium, this discussion will explore the urgent need for cooperation between the Mediterranean and the Global South, emphasizing how these partnerships can amplify climate ambition. Addressing issues such as climate finance, technology transfer, and capacity-building—essential pillars for equipping all nations, particularly the most vulnerable, to participate fully in the global green transition. This discussion also underscores the need for transparent and inclusive #climateaction, ensuring countries not only commit to ambitious targets but are genuinely supported in achieving them. The new President of Circle the Med Forum, George Papandreou will moderate this discussion with climate leaders such as Laurence Tubiana, CEO of the European Climate Foundation and architect of the Paris Agreement; Kumi Naidoo, President of the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative; and Gerd Leipold, Chair of the Climate Transparency Initiative, who, along with Kumi Naidoo, has previously served as Executive Directors of Greenpeace International.
