Panagiotis Tserolas, Elval’s #Sustainability Senior Manager, had the opportunity to participate in the panel discussion titled ‘’Green Transition: Interdependencies & Innovations’’, hosted by Climate Governance Initiative Greece, during the 1st Sustainable Manufacturing Conference. He focused on the intersection of business strategy on climate risks and circular economy, highlighting the inherent properties of #aluminium and its #recycling, which is an important lever to reduce emissions resulting from primary aluminium production. ElvalHalcor, Cenergy Holdings, and SIDENOR steel industry, in partnership with The Tipping Point in Education, once again launch the initiative "Career Prospects in the industrial sector."  This program aims to inform students from 12 Vocational High Schools (EPAL) and 3 Institutes of Vocational Training (SAEK) about the contemporary Greek manufacturing industry and its potential career opportunities.  Students will engage in discussions with our mentors who will share insights, examples and their experience working in the industrial sector. We are proud to announce that ELVAL, was awarded at #Bravo Sustainability Dialogue & Awards 2024, in the Market Pillar - #ProductInnovation, for its collaboration in the pioneering project "LNG-powered catamaran Margarita Salas". The awards ceremony was held at the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation by #QualityNet Foundation. Elval, the aluminium rolling division of ElvalHalcor provided the flat-rolled #aluminium for the innovative LNG-powered, high-speed #catamaran, Margarita Salas of Baleària’s fleet, built at the ARMON SHIPYARDS in Gijón, Spain. The impressive ship has two LNG tanks, which give it a range of 470 miles on gas, and an overall range of 1,000 miles.
