From January 1st to December 31st, a total of 36,026,347 passengers traveled through the terminals of our 14 regional airports—a 6.4% increase compared to the year 2023.   This milestone is a testament to the trust of millions of travelers and the vital role our airports play in fostering global connectivity. Christmas at Thessaloniki Airport "Makedonia"✈️ 🎄 From December 23rd to January 5th, we transformed the departures level of Thessaloniki’s airport into a magical holiday destination, with the “Enchanted Forest’. More than 3,500 passengers of all ages enjoyed magical moments & participated in the festive activations. From meeting Santa and his elves to creative workshops and stilt walker performances, the festive spirit was everywhere around! 🎥 Here's a glimpse of the magical moments we created together, reflecting our strong commitment to combining the promotion of the Thessaloniki as destinations and upgrading the travelers’ experience. We at Fraport Greece, have started an important and demanding program aimed at training all fire brigade personnel using an aircraft fire simulator with real fire. Starting on 2/12/2024 at Thessaloniki Airport, a cycle of local training sessions for firefighting and rescue personnel with the aircraft simulator began. These training courses will continue until all our 14 regional airports receive the same high-level, realistic training delivered by experienced instructors and aligned with the standards and requirements of international regulatory agencies, ICAO and EASA. The portable simulator replicates an A320 or B737 aircraft, giving the opportunity to train with fire trucks and equipment in various scenarios. It is estimated that before the start of the next high-traffic season in 2025, all training sessions will be completed, reaffirming our commitment to delivering the highest level of safety through advanced training, equipment, and procedures. #FraportGreece

The 2nd Wildlife Control Expert Workshop took place on 12th and 13th of December at Thessaloniki Airport “Makedonia”. With an interactive collaborative approach, our airside operations personnel exchanged best practices with the wildlife control team, bringing together valuable experience from the network of airports Fraport Greece operates. In a creative atmosphere, lessons learnt from a dynamic summer season were presented and the way forward was built with inspiration, innovation and collaboration. The workshop focused on strengthening our reporting and trust culture to prevent wildlife strikes and ensure the continuous improvement of the flight safety standards. #wildlife #flightsafety #SKG #airportecology
