We were glad to participate in the Annual Conference of Marine Technology, hosted by Hellenic Institute of Marine Technology - HIMT on December 10–11 at the Ίδρυμα Ευγενίδου / Eugenides Foundation. H.I.M.T. is renowned for the high scientific merit of its Annual Conference, which serves as an excellent platform for discussing technological advances in Greek and international shipping. Our Georgios Gkiotsalitis represented OCEANKING on the “AI in Shipping in Combination with Digitalization & Cyber Security” panel, addressing key topics in maritime technology, including #DataAcquisition Systems and #ArtificialIntelligence. Data Acquisition Systems (DA), such as those provided by Hoppe Marine GmbH enhance decision-making in the maritime industry by analyzing high-quality data to offer real-time performance insights, route optimization, and cost reduction. At the same time, they ensure compliance with regulations such as the EU ETS through automated measurements, data verification, and support for EEXI/ShaPoLi requirements. OCEANKING leverages these solutions to bring cutting-edge technologies to the maritime sector. In the field of Artificial Intelligence, OCEANKING invests in products like ship performance monitoring systems, failure prediction tools, and Training Simulators. I had the priviledge to moderate today a compelling panel discussion on "AI in combination with digitalization, digital data transfer, and cybersecurity in Shipping" at the 18th Annual Conference on Marine Technology, organized by the Hellenic Institute of Marine Technology - HIMT. The event highlighted the growing significance of AI and digital solutions within the Shipping and Logistics value chain. Key takeaways from the discussion emphasized the potential for enhancing performance monitoring, optimization, safety, security, and transparency in the industry. While opportunities abound, there remains a need for standardizing processes and establishing a robust framework to ensure sustained benefits over time. ΕΤΗΣΙΟ ΣΥΝΕΔΡΙΟ ΕΛΙΝΤ 10-11 ΔΕΚΕΜΒΡΙΟΥ ΕΥΓΕΝΙΔΙΟ ΙΔΡΥΜΑ Παρουσίαση της ελληνικής εταιρίας Asso Subsea που κατεχει τον μεγαλύτερο στόλο υποθαλάσσιων οχημάτων παγκοσμίως Στο συνέδριο του Hellenic Institute of Marine Technology - HIMT (Ελληνικού Ινστιτουτου Ναυτικης Τεχνολογίας) 10-11 Δεκεμβρίου 2024 που διεξάγεται στο Ίδρυμα Ευγενίδου ο κ Ιωάννης Τόγιας (Executive director of cable installations business unit) αναφερόμενος στον τομέα της υπεράκτιας ναυτιλιας offshore shipping τόνισε ότι η εταιρία του ελεγχει έναν στόλο 9 πλοιων πόντισης καλωδίων και κατεχει τον μεγαλύτερο στόλο υποθαλάσσιων οχημάτων ταφής καλωδίων (trenchers) παγκοσμίως. Η εταιρία ιδρύθηκε πριν από περίπου 50 χρόνια και υπογράμμισε ότι ένα από τα πλοια του στόλου το “Aταλαντη” είναι νεόκτιστο καθώς κατασκευάστηκε εξ’ όλοκλήρου στα ναυπηγεία Χαλκίδας υπό την επίβλεψη των ναυπηγών της Asso Subsea. Όλα τα πλοια της εταιριας φέρουν την ελληνική σημαία και απασχολεί 500 Έλληνες ναυτικους αποκλειστικά . Ο κ. Τόγιας αναφέρθηκε στον τομέα της offshore ναυτιλιας που αποτελείται από την εξόρυξη oil & gas, παραγωγή ανανεώσιμης ενέργειας renewable energy, και την πόντιση υποθαλάσσιων αγωγών και καλωδίων subsea pipelines & cables. Ο τομέας της υπεράκτιας ναυτιλιας αποτελείται από εξειδικευμένα και τεχνολογικά εξελιγμένα πλοια όπως oil rigs, ancho handling & offshore support platforms vessels και άλλους τύπους σκαφων. Κοινό γνώρισμα όλων αυτών των πλοιων είναι η λειτουργία δυναμικών συστημάτων σταθεροποίησης dynamic positioning systems για να ανταποκρίνεται το σκάφος σε όλες τις καιρικές συνθήκες. Τέλος ο κ. Τόγιας σημείωσε ότι η εταιρία παρακολουθεί τις τεχνολογικές εξελίξεις και προσαρμόζεται στους κανονισμούς μείωσης των εκπομπών άνθρακα. Το συνέδριο άνοιξε ο Προέδρος του Ελληνικού Ινστιτούτου Ναυτικής Τεχνολογίας (ΕΛ.Ι.Ν.Τ.), Dr. Nikolaos Liapis και χαιρετισμούς απεύθυναν ο υφυπουργος Μαυτιλιας Στέφανος Γκίκας ο γενικός γραμματέας έρευνας και ανάπτυξης του υπουργείου ανάπτυξης Τ. Γαϊτάνης και άλλοι επίσημοι. Το 18ο ετήσιο συνέδριο Ναυτικής Τεχνολογίας, που διεξάγεται στις 10 & 11 Δεκεμβρίου 2024 στο Ίδρυμα Ευγενίδου. Κατά τη διάρκεια του συνεδρίου, αναλύονται καίρια ζητήματα της διεθνούς Ναυτιλίας και διεξαγεται διάλογος των Φορέων με τους εκπροσώπους της Ελληνικής Ναυτιλιακής κοινότητας. #shipping #shippingindustry
