IGS ETE Greece: Just wrapped up an incredible event organised by IGS Greece (HGS). Over two intensive days and very productive days, we delved into geosynthetics and their applications, learning, sharing, and engaging discussions. We had strong participation from professors representing 11 universities and institutions in Greece, along with chapter sponsors, with a total of 47 participants. I am so happy and grateful to have been part of this successful event, alongside Prof. Jorge Zornberg and Prof. Ivan P. Only a couple of weeks have left for the geosynthetics educational training program: Educate the Educators (EtE), which will be held in Xanthi, Greece from 18th to 19th of October, 2024. This educational program, organized by the Greek chapter (#IGSGreece(HGS) / igs-greece.gr) of the International Geosynthetics Society (#IGS), will combine lectures, workshops, and support activities, but most importantly, will bring together more than 40 professors and teaching staff members from all over Greece and Cyprus to discuss about geosynthetics with respect to undergraduate and graduate education, an activity which may be extremely enriching!

Το σεμινάριο έχει σκοπό να παρουσιάσει σε διδάσκοντες Πολυτεχνικών Σχολών καλές πρακτικές ενσωμάτωσης, στο πρόγραμμα σπουδών προπτυχιακών φοιτητών, βασικών αρχών λειτουργίας και εφαρμογής γεωσυνθετικών υλικών στα τεχνικά έργα. Το πρόγραμμα IGS Educate the Educators (ETE) στοχεύει να προσφέρει εκπαιδευτικό υλικό στους διδάσκοντες, έτσι ώστε οι φοιτητές τους να είναι ενήμεροι και για τα πλεονεκτήματα που μπορεί να προσφέρει η χρήση γεωσυνθετικών υλικών.
