Today, Neuralio A.I.’s CTO, Dr. Paraskevi Vourlioti, presented our collaborative project with AlongRoute: Guiding Every Mile, where AI and High-Performance Computing (HPC) come together to advance oceanographic forecasting. With key support from EuroCC Austria and the powerful infrastructure of the Vienna Scientific Cluster (VSC5), we’re working to achieve new levels of precision in Significant Wave Height (SWH) prediction. Our approach uses Graph Neural Networks with Gated Recurrent Units, trained on comprehensive Copernicus datasets, to capture both spatial and temporal patterns in ocean dynamics. With the EuroCC Austria-supported HPC resources, we can provide dependable, actionable forecasts that promote safer and more sustainable maritime operations. We’re grateful for the collaboration and infrastructure support from our partners, which make this work possible. Yesterday at #SynergyDays2024, during the workshop on AI for Earth Monitoring in Agriculture, our CEO, Stelios Kotsopoulos, presented Neuralio A.I.'s efforts to advance AI and Earth Observation for sustainable decision-making across sectors such as agriculture, renewable energy, and green credit. Through the Transition Neuralio project, we’re moving beyond traditional data interpretation, embracing predictive analytics that empowers stakeholders to anticipate future scenarios and make well-informed decisions. A central feature of Transition Neuralio is its ability to model what-if scenarios, enabling users to explore the potential impacts of different strategies and conditions, supporting proactive planning and sustainable resource management. The workshop provided the space to discuss the future capabilities of AI in EO and geospatial analytics, fostering meaningful exchanges on how these technologies can address emerging challenges. Three months ago, Neuralio A.I. and AlongRoute: Guiding Every Mile set out on a shared mission—to push the boundaries of marine weather forecasting through cutting-edge AI and HPC. 🌊 Today, we’re thrilled to announce the success of that collaboration. Together, we’ve developed a state-of-the-art solution for predicting oceanographic conditions, specifically Significant Wave Height (SWH), using our Graph Neural Networks (GNN) and Gated Recurrent Units (GRU) model. This model, trained on over 500 million data points with the support of the Vienna Scientific Cluster (VSC5), has demonstrated exceptional accuracy, helping to improve the safety and efficiency of maritime operations. 🚢 A huge thank you to EuroCC Austria for providing the HPC infrastructure that made this possible, and to the dedicated teams from both Neuralio A.I. and AlongRoute: Guiding Every Mile, including Paraskevi Vourlioti, Theano Mamouka, Maria Banti, Charalampos Paraskevas, Stelios Kotsopoulos, Vasileios Alexandridis and Georgia Kalantzi. Yesterday, our CTO, Paraskevi Vourlioti, had the opportunity to present at the "Data-driven Applications for Exascale Supercomputers" workshop, organized by GRNET - Greek Research & Technology Network, in Athens, Greece. Her presentation, “Applications, challenges, and Sectoral insights, when deploying Numerical Weather Prediction models in HPC systems,” explored both the opportunities and challenges we face when pushing the limits of High-Performance Computing (HPC) for more reliable weather forecasting. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn from others working in the field of HPC applications and to share our own insights and experiences. 🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 We are thrilled to announce that the European Space Agency - ESA has awarded Neuralio AI one of the two "EO-Informed Agent-Based Models For Digital Twins Applications - Expro+" ITT contracts! 🎉 We will develop an EO-informed Multi-Level Agent-Based Modeling (ML-ABM) framework in collaboration with ESA and our partners WIRELESSINFO, Enchatted and Asplan Viak AS. This innovative approach integrates Earth Observation data with sophisticated AI techniques to simulate complex socio-environmental systems. Our ML-ABM framework will provide dynamic simulations for optimal land use and policy adoption, offering valuable insights for sustainable development and climate resilience.
