👋Hello and welcome to ONCOSCREEN, a €13M flagship project funded by Horizon Europe 🇪🇺 research and innovation actions supporting the implementation of #EU's Mission on Cancer and focusing on the development of new methods and technologies for cancer screening and early detection. Here's a little bit of information about us 👇 ✔️ The ONCOSCREEN project will develop new technologies and methodologies for low-cost colorectal cancer screening and contribute to raising awareness on the disease and its detection. ✔️ The project consortium comprises 38 partners from 15 EU member states and associated countries. It brings together technical solutions partners, medical professionals, cancer research experts, cancer patient associations, and policy makers. ✔️ Only 14% of European citizens participates in cancer screening programmes. There is an urgent need for accurate, non-invasive, and cost-effective screening tests. ✳️ #ONCOSCREEN Introduction series ✳️ Our next partner is Europacolon Portugal (ECPT) With expertise in stakeholder engagement, communication and dissemination activities, ECPT will be instrumental in increasing the impact and potential of proposed ONCOSCREEN technologies and methodologies and training end users. ECPT will provide its support and knowledge in the task related to health economics. During a colonoscopy, tissue samples are taken for in-depth analysis to identify cancerous or precancerous cells. With the help of AI-assisted colonoscopy training, ONCOSCREEN is improving the accuracy and efficiency of biopsies. By integrating AI into medical training, clinicians can better detect and assess lesions, ensuring early and precise diagnosis.
