#Throwback to our 1st #Innovitamins 💊 project back in May & June 2024, an #InnovitaminsBooster 💊 👊to companies which were integrating innovative, science-based solutions for their sustainability and operational efficiency. Our first #innovitaminees received our guidance in their IP & trade secrets strategy as well as in the design & management of their R&D collaboration contracts. It was (a) a company integrating #scienceBased solutions for its #sustainable 🪴🌳 operation and (b) a company integrating a #robotics-based 🤖 solution for its operational efficiency. Both #innovitaminee companies were applying for NSRF funding (EU co-funded financing), under the program “Research & Innovate” and benefited from our support for their strategic plans, which they were to submit at their funding proposals. The #Innovitamin Booster was based on our targeted methodologies of #Innovitamins A, I and V. ---[💊🔠 A for Agreements, I for IP and V for Valorization]. ---It included both advisory support and action-based capacity building for the #innovitaminee companies. 📒 Our Q&A Innovitamin handbook on IP and R&D contracts, prepared by our co-founder Faye Orfanou including useful advice on #IP and #RandD contract issues, initially prepared for the #innovitaminees, was also made available to business advisors to assist them in their services to other applicants of the “Research & Innovate” program. Benefitting from the experience of our 1st Innovitamin Booster, we elaborated further our Innovitamins A, I and V methodologies enhancing the value which we can offer to innovitaminee companies that may benefit from our #innovitamins support. #Throwback to our 1st targeted initiative for young scientists: Our targeted #TUNEin program for #AI-in-Business for award winning participants at the #MAKEATHON of UniAI . Our co-founding partners , run by Faye Orfanou, Konstantina Koutsioumpa, Effie Karamantzani and Manos Iatrelis designed and run the "TUNEin for AI-in-Business" project which aimed to provide a #Science2Business capacity building experience to the young technology and economics scientists, which had been distinguished as winners of the UniAI #Makeathon. Our #TUNEin experience, was based on a combination of (a) simulations of encounters between technology designers and business officers of different types of companies, (b) co-creation workshops and (c) self-reflection consultations. https://lnkd.in/dJdp5Re6 We are very happy that the initiative was embraced with such enthusiasm by the young scientists who participated! According to their testimonials, the #TUNEin project offered them a practical, hands-on experience, which they considered as useful preparation for the next steps in their professional (or entrepreneurial) career. #Throwback to our 1st project on commercialization-related #IPCommunication! In that project we supported a mechanical engineering inventor to adapt his communication approach to the industry, for the establishment of commercialization collaborations. Between January and March 2024, INTELLEX Patents - Trademarks - Data entrusted us with the support of an inventor, applicant of patent in the field of mechanical engineering whom they had been supporting. We were assigned to advise and guide the inventor and his team on the communication of their #IP and its application in innovative solutions for the industry. It was an #IPCommunication capacity building on the communication of the IP required when preparing contacts or making discussions for commercialization deals. Our co-founding Partners, Manos Iatrelis, Thomas Krabokoukis, Ph.D. and Faye Orfanou advised the inventor on the specific communication requirements of the industry, demonstrating to him “how the industry thinks” and guided him into an “innovation re-branding” re-designing his presentations and making his technical language more “business-friendly” under the lense of the prospective commercialization. We are grateful to INTELLEX Patents - Trademarks - Data for their trust and for providing us with the opportunity to support a talented inventor, using our approach  on commercialization-related IP communication. #Throwback to our 1st major project, in which we supported the #commercialization of a scientific innovation in the field of #foodSafety. In October 2023, Researcher Eleni Makarona of NCSR "DEMOKRITOS"entrusted us with the #CommercializationPlanning of the FOODSENS Project, in which she was the scientific coordinator. The research team of the FOODSENS Project, building on the prior research achievements of its researchers, developed an innovative milk safety diagnostic system for the diagnosis of aflatoxin M1 -AFM1 and other bacteria in milk as well as for milk adulteration diagnosis with advanced preciseness and efficiency. [https://lnkd.in/dkYqm4gq]. Thanks to the past experience of our co-founders, Science 2 Business was selected to design the #CommercializationStrategy for the scientific innovation of the project. Our task was to set up the #CommercialisationPlan for the market exploitation of the Project’s innovative milk safety diagnostic. Under the coordination of our Managing Partner Faye Orfanou we examined the Food Safety Technology Market and we designed #CommercializationScenaria for the #exploitation of the innovative scientific solutions developed within the FOODSENS Project by the interdisciplinary scientific team, coordinated by Researcher Eleni Makarona. In our #CommercializationPlan we defined the prospects and challenges of 4 alternative ways of exploitation, examining both commercial collaborations and potential business ventures by the Project partners in the national and international food safety technology market. Thanks to the knowledge on #FoodSafety Technology Market which we gained in that commercialization planning project, we have been following closely the developments on the field of Food Science and Technology and throughout 2024, we have been studying, learning and building contacts with food-related scientists and market officials. Thus, we are now planning for the 2nd (or 3rd) quarter of 2025 a targeted initiative to support collaborations between scientists and businesses for the integration of science-based innovations into the food sector. #Throwback to the 1st ever activity of Science 2 Business! It was a short educational presentation for a working group of innovation policy academics and technology transfer professionals, back in September 2023. It was the initiation of #Lighthouse initiative. In that activity our co-founders Faye Orfanou and Vangelis Nomikos made a presentation before the innovation policy academics and technology transfer officers about our approach for the effective preparation and capacity building of #SpinOff founders. In our presentation, we presented actual cases of capacity building of Spin-Off founders in their early steps, out of the past activity of our co-founders (before Science-2-Business was founded) and: 💡 We defined the particularities of Sciencepreneurs and their specific challenges, 💡 We demonstrated the particular requirements for the business preparation of Spin-Off founders, as opposed to non-research related start-ups 💡 We indicated capacity building activities which could effectively support Spin-off founders. Thanks to the response of the attendees on that first presentation, we were inspired to develop our targeted activity for the support of #Sciencepreneurs, (https://lnkd.in/dgig5Xhg) and within 2024 we designed and launched (a) our #Science2Deals program as well as (b) our sciencepreneur-specific #Innovitamin services. The perspectives lying ahead for technology transfer in Greece appear very promising, thanks to the well-founded collaboration network of Greek TTOs, ΜΕΤΕΧ: Hellenic Network of Technology Transfer Offices We were thrilled to be a part of the inaugural Greek TTO Conference, held in beautiful Herakleion, Crete by ΜΕΤΕΧ: Hellenic Network of Technology Transfer Offices and to acquire a first hand experience of the promising collaboration framework for the support of science-based innovation in Greece through an alliance of knowledge sharing among Greek TTOs, driven by METEX. This landmark event brought together officials and tech transfer professionals of Greek Universities and Research Centres as well as representatives of public authorities and financiers. Key topics were addressed such as strategies for protecting and leveraging intellectual property rights, the role of business acceleration structures, and the essential skills required for Technology Transfer Officers. Discussions also highlighted the importance of funding mechanisms for innovative products and the challenges faced by professionals in the field. A significant highlight was the presentation held - for the 1st time for the Greek innovation ecosystem - by an executive official of ASTP. The participation of Laura MacDonald, Chief Executive at ASTP in a domestic tech transfer conference was a significant milestone for the connection of the Greek TTOs with this major international network of tech transfer professionals. Our very own Faye Orfanou, held a presentation on the role, the skillset and the challenges of the Tech Transfer Officers, as professionals, and she coordinated an engaging panel discussion, where Katerina Papadopoulou as Head of a major Greek TTO, Stavros Pissadakis, as a Researcher with extensive technology transfer activity, and Maria Chountoulesi, as IP officer of a major group of pharma companies, shared their views on the requirements of the technology transfer professionals and provided their insights for more effective technology transfer. Our organization is committed to driving innovation and building meaningful connections between academia and industry, and this conference was the perfect platform to advance these goals. Innovative ideation and collaboration at their best! A few days ago, the Tech for Humanity hackathon brought together brilliant young minds at the Ίδρυμα Ευγενίδου / Eugenides Foundation, organised by the British Council. A huge congratulations to the winning team, whose creative and impactful idea on tackling climate migration through synthetic biology stood out among the 8 talented teams! 🎉 We’re excited to see them take their message to the European stage during the study visit to Edinburgh. It was a pleasure to witness Mike Lloyd sharing insights on humanising AI-driven technologies, which sparked meaningful discussions and ideas. Our own Science 2 Business mentors—Faye Orfanou, Anastasios Giannaros, and Konstantina Koutsioumpa—were proud to support the teams in refining their ideas and transforming them into powerful messages for change. We were equally thrilled to meet researchers Molly Katsouli and Conrad Landis from the Athena Research Center, whose expertise added immense value to the process. The energy and collaboration we experienced during those days were truly inspiring.
