Thrace Group Successfully Participates at European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference & Exhibition EU PVSEC 2024 Our dedicated Technical Support team, in collaboration with Professor Filippos Farmakis from Democritus University of Thrace, unveiled a groundbreaking innovation aimed at maximizing the energy output of bifacial photovoltaic systems. This innovative approach, detailed in the paper titled “ENHANCING ENERGY GENERATION OF BIFACIAL PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS WITH A PERMEABLE ALBEDO ENHANCEMENT COMPOSITE,” is now available in the Conference Proceedings. The centerpiece of our presentation was the Helios Reflect System (HRS), a cutting-edge permeable albedo enhancement composite designed to significantly boost energy yield while simultaneously suppressing weed growth. This groundbreaking solution is particularly well-suited for ground-mounted PV installations using bifacial modules. During the conference, George Tzinoglou delivered an insightful presentation, while George Papagiannis and Alexandros Droudakis engaged with attendees at the exhibition, showcasing the numerous benefits of the HRS system.   Key Highlights of Our Innovation: · Enhanced Energy Yield: Our composite material delivers a substantial 5% annual energy increase compared to traditional methods. · Environmental Benefits: The HRS material is permeable, recyclable, and fully aligned with circular economy principles. · Year-Round Performance: In a case study, the system consistently enhanced energy generation, providing an annual energy gain of over 80 kWh/kWp. Successful International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) "Educate the Educators" Program at Stavros Chalioris Social Center. The "Educate the Educators" (ETE) program of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) aims to introduce geosynthetics into undergraduate engineering curricula. By providing teaching materials and training to university faculty, the program seeks to ensure that every engineering graduate has a basic understanding of geosynthetics. In October 2024, a two-day "Educate the Educators" program took place at the Stavros Chalioris Social Center, organized by the Hellenic Geosynthetics Society (HGS). The event was aimed at university faculty members within the Greek academic community specializing in Geotechnical and Environmental Engineering. Renowned international experts in Geosynthetic Engineering, including Jorge Zornberg (University of Texas at Austin, USA), Patricia Guerra-Escobar (Chair of the European Regional Activities Committee, ERAC, UK), and Ivan Damians (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC, School of Civil Engineering), served as instructors for the program. The program was highly successful, with positive feedback from both participants and instructors. We are proud to have contributed to this success through our team's efforts in preparing and distributing training samples, organizing guided tours of our cutting-edge Fiber and Needlepunch Nonwoven Production Lines, and providing a detailed visit to our Quality Control Laboratory. Η νέα πρώτη ύλη που έχει αναπτύξει, ενσωματώνει το υπόλειμμα του καφέ και προσφέρει μια οικολογική συμπληρωματική λύση στη διεθνή αγορά πλαστικών προϊόντων. ΘΕΡΜΟΚΗΠΙΑ ΘΡΑΚΗΣ & ΓΑΣΤΡΟΝΟΜΟΣ. ΑΠΟ ΤΟΝ ΚΗΠΟ ΣΤΟ ΠΙΑΤΟ. Την Τρίτη 1η Οκτωβρίου, τα Θερμοκήπια Θράκης μαζί με τον Γαστρονόμο, ετοίμασαν μια βιωματική γευστική εμπειρία για ξεχωριστούς συνεργάτες από γνωστές αλυσίδες σούπερ μάρκετ.  Ο χώρος των αστικών θερμοκηπίων στο Κίτσι Αττικής, μεταμορφώθηκε σε ένα φιλόξενο σημείο συνάντησης, με πρωταγωνιστές όλα τα αγνά κηπευτικά παραγωγής των Θερμοκηπίων Θράκης.   Στόχος ήταν να ενημερωθούν οι επισκέπτες, για τις αρετές της καλλιέργειας με γεωθερμία και υδροπονία με τρόπο βιωματικό. Έτσι έγινε ξενάγηση στις μονάδες καλλιέργειας των θερμοκηπίων, μάζεψαν καρπούς μελιτζάνας που στη συνέχεια παρέδωσαν στην κολεκτίβα μαγείρων Nomade et Sauvage. Στην υπαίθρια κουζίνα τους ετοίμασαν ένα menu υψηλής γαστρονομίας, εμπνευσμένο από όλα τα είδη κηπευτικών της παραγωγής των θερμοκηπίων: τομάτες beef και τσαμπί, τοματίνια brioso και papeletto, αγγούρια κανονικά και mini και μελιτζάνα. Στο εσωτερικό των θερμοκηπίων είχε στηθεί ένα μεγάλο μακρύ τραπέζι όπου κάθισαν όλοι μαζί για να απολαύσουν φρέσκα ελληνικά πιάτα που ανέδειξαν με τον καλύτερο τρόπο την ποιότητα και γεύση των λαχανικών, αποδεικνύοντας στην πράξη τι σημαίνει Από τον Κήπο στο Πιάτο. #thracegreenhouses #gastronomos #urbanfarming #sustainablefarming #sustainblefood

For the 4th consecutive year, Thrace Group, through In the Loop platform, is proudly standing alongside the EKO Acropolis Rally 2024 as a committed sustainability partner. Together, we have set the stage to implement impactful initiatives that promote circular economy and reduce environmental impact. SAFETY NETS: We used nets from the 2023 race to produce 5 km of new recycled safety nets - a powerful demonstration of our commitment to recycling. REUSABLE CUPS: Continuing last year’s success, we provided 35,000 “In the Loop” reusable cups to this year’s event. These cups are designed to help us preserve memorable moments but most importantly to minimize the environmental footprint. GARBAGE BAGS: We also supplied 1,500 “In the Loop” garbage bags made from 100% recycled content to help manage the event's waste.
