Once again, Apple’s Weather app has alarmed Fresno residents with a prediction of a scorching 120-degree day — this time on Sunday, July 7.

The National Weather Service in Hanford on Friday reassured residents that such extreme heat is highly unlikely, with a 0% chance of the high reaching 120 degrees.

According to the NWS, there is a 6% chance the temperature could hit 115 degrees, a 36% chance it could reach 110 degrees, and a 66% chance it will be about 105 degrees on July 7.

On Thursday, Apple’s weather app was the talk of the town with its 121-degree forecast for Saturday, July 6. The app later dropped its prediction to 112 degrees for that day.

Fresno’s all-time heat record is 115 degrees set on July 8, 1905.

This Weekend’s Weather

The NWS forecast calls for a Friday high of 97 and low of 68, 100 with a low of 70 on Saturday, and 99 with a low of 70 on Sunday.
