The Caribbean Community (CARICOM), an intergovernmental organisation established in 1973 by the Treaty of Chaguaramas. There are 15 Members - Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, St Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago and 6 Associate Members - Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Curaçao and Turks and Caicos Islands. On 11 February, #CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr Carla Barnett warmly welcomed newly-appointed President of the Caribbean Development Bank, Daniel M. Best to the CARICOM Secretariat in Georgetown, Guyana. During the very productive meeting, both parties discussed sectoral development and matters focused on the development of our Region. Dr. Carla Barnett was joined by Dr. Wendell Samuel, Assistant Secretary-General (Ag), Economic Integration, Innovation and Development, and Emil Waight, Special Assistant to the Secretary-General. Mr. Best was accompanied by Isaac Solomon, Vice President (Operations), and Ann-Marie Warner, Deputy Director, Corporate Strategy of the Bank.
