From all of us at Archireef, we wish you a joyful holiday season filled with peace, happiness, and a commitment to a sustainable future. This year, we chose terracotta snowflakes as a reminder of nature-based solutions at the heart of our mission. Just as we use terracotta in our Reef Tiles to restore marine ecosystems, these snowflakes symbolise the harmony between innovation and nature, creating a brighter future for generations to come.
About us
At Archireef, we believe that active restoration and nature-positivity are critical components for the future of our marine ecosystems, from shorelines to coral reefs. As a nature tech company, we focus on the restoration of coral reefs. Our Reef Tiles serve as a substrate to corals, accelerating their recovery in particularly challenged geographies. Our ultimate mission is to create coral highways and build a global network of substrates to help save and recover coral reefs around the world. Our purpose is to restore degraded marine ecosystem through a science-led approach.

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Swire Bulk in launching a Nature-based Coral Restoration Research Project in Singapore! This groundbreaking initiative, in collaboration with Singapore's National Parks Board (NParks) and the Reef Ecology Lab at the National University of Singapore (NUS), focuses on leveraging advanced 3D-printing technology to restore coral reefs and support marine biodiversity. Archireef's coral restoration efforts in Singapore with Swire also contribute to the newly launched 100k Corals Initiative, led by the National Parks Board, which aims to plant 100,000 corals in Singapore’s waters over the next 10 years and beyond. 🌏 Through the deployment of our pioneering 3D-printed terracotta Reef Tiles™, we are contributing to this ambitious goal while advancing research on coral resilience and growth under diverse environmental conditions. 💬 This collaboration demonstrates the power collaboration and Nature-based Solutions in addressing urgent environmental challenges. Together, we are not only restoring coral reefs but also building a replicable model for urban coastal resilience," said Archireef’s CEO, Vriko Yu. We are proud to work alongside Swire Bulk, NUS, and NParks to enhance marine ecosystems and promote biodiversity. This partnership is a step forward in achieving sustainable marine ecosystems and ensuring the health of our oceans for generations to come. We are grateful to be working with such incredible partners for a bluer planet! 📢 Read more about the project here https://lnkd.in/dhjf26CC. - Archireef : Vriko Yu, Deniz Tekerek, Dr. David Baker, Flo Janin 🪸, Mayez Kabbara ★, Lamisse Z.. - Swire: Susana Germino, Lydia Pavlova, Diyana Zailani, Ting Yin Tang. - Nparks : Samantha Lai, Rachel Mark, Karenne Tun, PhD, Jeffrey Low, Jerome YONG, Hor Yee TONG, Wan Ting Toh, Li-San Ng, Amanda Jane Y., Godwin NG. - NUS : Huang Danwei #Sustainability #CoralRestoration #MarineEcosystems #Innovation #NatureBasedSolutions #Archireef #SwireBulk #NUS #Nparks #100kCoralsInitiative

We are proud and honored to have Archireef’s Reef Tiles featured as one of the five key innovations during the 53rd Eid Al Etihad Official Ceremony, attended by HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; Their Highnesses, the Rulers of the Emirates; and other esteemed UAE leaders. The breathtaking performance celebrated three pillars of progress: oceans, land, and space, brought to life by children embodying the UAE’s thriving future and their role as torchbearers of the next generation’s aspirations. Each child carried a sphere of light, a star, representing a beacon of innovation, from which our Reef Tiles emerged to showcase their vital role in restoring underwater habitats. We had the pleasure of co-hosting an event at Ocean Park Corporation with Sustainable Finance Initiative where Dr. David Baker, our Co-founder and Chief Scientist, led an engaging discussion and presentation on Archireef's nature-based solutions, highlighting our work in coral restoration and the crucial role of coral reefs in marine ecosystems. Attendees from YPO (Young Presidents’ Organisation) also enjoyed an exclusive tour of the CORAL REEFstoration Center, where they witnessed our pioneering approach in rehabilitating coral reefs through hands-on conservation and innovative restoration techniques. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this inspiring session, and a special shoutout to SFI for collaborating with us on this journey towards sustainable ocean preservation. #Archireef #CoralREEFstoration
Did you know that between 1957 and 2007, the coverage of living coral on reefs decreased by approximately 50%, while the abundance of fish species plummeted by 60%? This alarming statistic underscores the urgent need for innovative solutions in ocean preservation. 🐠 Our recent event at Ocean Park was truly inspiring, featuring an engaging discussion with Dr. David Baker, Co-founder and Chief Scientist of Archireef. Dr. Baker illuminated the groundbreaking work being done with artificial coral reefs and their crucial role in restoring marine ecosystems. 🦐 Attendees enjoyed an exclusive tour of the breathtaking artificial coral installations within the Ocean Park Grand Aquarium tanks, providing an immersive experience that showcased the remarkable efforts underway to protect our oceans. 🐟 We were also thrilled to collaborate with the YPO (Young Presidents' Organisation), a global community of over 35,000 exceptional chief executives committed to fostering growth and making a positive impact. Together, we explored sustainable solutions for our seas and strengthened our network of changemakers. #OceanConservation #Sustainability #ImpactInvesting #MarineEcosystems #ArtificialReefs
