BEA was recognised at the Best Corporate Governance and ESG Awards 2024 for Corporate Governance in the Non-Hang Seng Index-Constituent Companies (Medium Market Capitalisation) Category – Special Mention. We are continuously strengthening our corporate governance practices. This year, we launched a mandatory ESG training programme for all Group staff, including Senior Management and Board-level ESG Committee members. The programme contains modules on sustainability, climate change, and climate risk management, thoroughly covering topics closely related to our businesses that all levels of staff should be aware of. Organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), the Awards aim to recognise companies that demonstrate excellence in both corporate governance and ESG practices and reporting, while integrating these two elements into their values, strategies, and operations. #BEA #CorporateGovernance #ESG

Encouraging retirees and elders to proactively plan their personal finances, health, interests, and goals is one of the priorities of our “Palliative Care for the Elderly” under the theme of “Golden Adventures”. We hosted a day camp for over 60 seniors in the community lately at Jao Tsung-I Academy, where our volunteers assisted the participants in completing mission games around four forces (四力) – fun (樂力), fitness (體力), finance (財力), and future planning (未力), and motivated them to embrace their golden years. By recycling commercial waste lead acid batteries (WLAB) from our Data Centre UPS and Building Services Control Panels in Hong Kong, we are supporting the local recycling industry, preventing environmental hazards and social issues associated with improper disposal, and significantly reducing carbon emissions that result from waste transportation to other countries. “Yum Cha” is a Cantonese ritual of sipping Chinese tea and savouring dim sum whilst catching up with family and friends. Yet it can be a luxury for elderly people who have mobility difficulties. Earlier on, we organised a Yum Cha activity for seniors living in residential care homes. Apart from relishing Har Gao and Siu Mai at a local restaurant, we also had some fun games and celebrated birthdays together. It’s really a heartwarming gathering.
