Earlier this month, our Joyce organised two tables of Biodiversity Collage Fresque de la Biodiversité. The excellent game taught us all: 🟣 Systems thinking 🟡 Social learning and collective intelligence 🟢 Nature is behind everything that sustains and enriches life 🔴 Key drivers of biodiversity erosion - and key concepts about preventing it! Are you curious about this game that’s being increasingly adopted for sustainability education around the world? Get in touch or join our next sessions. Thank you too all the participants for being part of the inspiring evening 🪴

Do you know what EFFECTUATION is? Have a read of our new blog now: https://lnkd.in/g4CsP6ua "Traditional strategic planning, built on the premise of predictable futures, often falters when confronted with unexpected market shifts, disruptive technologies, and unforeseen global events. [...] Instead of starting with a predetermined goal and then seeking the means to achieve it (causal logic), effectuation begins with available means – resources, networks, and partnerships – and then allows goals to emerge iteratively. This approach embraces uncertainty, leveraging it as an opportunity for innovation and adaptation." Speak with our team of org, leadership and innovation experts if you'd like to learn more! 🌍 Join the Conversation at AlterCOP 29! 🌍 I’m honored to be a part of Altercop 29 in Singapore this November. This amazing initiative will gather together pioneers and practitioners in sustainability, climate action, and social transformation. 🌿Join us, for a program packed with insightful, locally relevant sessions and collaborative activities designed to drive real, lasting change. On 🗓️ 18 November 2024, I’ll be facilitating a workshop focusing on the critical competencies for Sustainability Transition. This session will focus on specific 💡soft skills - meta skills - needed to navigate complex, ever-changing landscapes. Together, we’ll explore how to: - Tackle sustainability challenges using creative, collaborative approaches. - Address the human side of change, considering emotions, biases, and behaviors. - Equip ourselves with practical tools to engage stakeholders across all levels of an organization. Through mini-challenges 🧠 , we’ll engage with real-world Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) like responsible consumption, workplace inclusivity, and mental well-being. This workshop is part of a day focused on Human Capital, Youth, and Bridging Generational Gaps—a theme that couldn’t be more timely. I’m deeply inspired by the hard work of the entire AlterCOP team, who’ve put together an ambitious program that pushes the boundaries on sustainability discourse. Thanks to a friend's invitation to speak at his class on AI, I had a deep dive into humane and ethical design. 👉 Think #codedbias #doomscrolling #brainhack After a heated debate with AI 🤪 she and I agree that - of course, technology could be a force for good, we just need to be intentional about why we do what we do, instead of blindly chasing after engagement. Two good reminder questions to guide through the design process could be: 1️⃣ How might we create designs that align with our values and genuinely serve lives? 2️⃣ How do we transform passive consumers into active participants? Want to learn more? Check out our short gif, and hop over to our website for this longer piece titled "Beyond Engagement: Designing for Human Flourishing" https://lnkd.in/gtU4yrxw

#WorldFoodDay : How can we minimise the food waste we generate as individuals? 💡 While ideas are many ... e.g.: bring along a food container when you dine out to bring leftovers back home, go and buy these tomatoes for your bolognese even if they don't look perfect from the outside, consume "local", etc. ... 🙅♀️ Moving into action, over time, may prove more difficult than expected! e.g.: that extra container may not be super convenient to carry around (#lossaversion bias), my friends may find me weird at the hawker centre (#conformity bias & social belonging), etc. That was the topic of our latest public Human Factor Mural in Singapore led by Marine Veillon. A special thanks 🫶 to #FoodHack and the community of sustainability partners 💚 here.
World Food Day: Multi-Fresk held with FoodHack Singapore on Wednesday, October 16! 🌏 Together with our friends in #Singapore Climate Fresk Singapore, Circular Economy Collage, Adaptation to Climate Change workshops (Les Ateliers de l'Adaptation au Changement Climatique) and Human Factor, we organised a Multi-Fresk Event, exploring the theme of #food and #sustainability! 🍅 Amazing participants took part in the 5 workshops happening all in the same space, as we unpacked the topic on food & sustainability from 5 different approaches. 🌱 For this multi-fresk, special guests joined us on a panel with FoodHack, to share with us recent happenings in #FoodTech. Thank you Jolene L., Qi Herng Kong, Mei Chi Poh and Natasha Lye for sharing your insights with us! 🙏 Thank you to all the facilitators who made this event possible! 💪 👉 If you want to join one of our next workshops in Singapore, sign up here: https://lnkd.in/g8-S87hx

Check out what our participant said about our session - thank you so much for sharing and the shout-out Pat Kwok! We are thrilled you enjoyed the session we delivered for and with The ReThink Foundation. See you around at future co-learning and other impact events 💫
I attended a workshop today about "Systems Thinking and Cognitive Design" for service innovation. Among those system tools, we have chosen "The Iceberg" model to discuss and use a scenario to elaborate on how it can apply to our social environment. How do human minds work, what are habitual behaviors, and what are the human factors? Although it is just a short session, it can give you a moment to think deeply and refresh your mind about your work, your obstacles, and how to facilitate and accelerate changes. #BetterFutures #RethinkFoundationWorkshop #KLF #socialimpact #serviceinnovation
