Amid the ongoing political crisis and challenging operating environment, #Myanmar was unable to participate in the Doing Good Index 2024. However, it is important to shine a light on the remarkable efforts of the country’s social sector and the unwavering resilience in the face of adversity. Thanks to our local partner, Yever, we have put together an excerpt that highlights some of the significant challenges social sector organizations face, including safety concerns, restrictions on activities and soaring operational costs, all while continuing to deliver essential services. #DoingGoodIndex2024 #Myanmar #Resilience #SocialSector

Vincent Cheng, Deputy Director of Special Projects at CAPS, recently spoke at the "Economy of Goodness Symposium: Blended Finance & Social Innovation". Drawing from CAPS reports including DECODED: Blended Finance in Action in Asia and The Tao of Giving: Insights into Ultra-High-Net-Worth Giving in Greater China, he highlighted how Asia’s growing wealth and UNHWIs’ deepening engagement in private social investments through #philanthropy, #impactinvesting, and structures such as #blendedfinance can help bridge the APAC region’s annual US$1.5 trillion funding gap to meet the UN SDGs by 2030.
