📢 From Bystander to Upstander: A Powerful First Session with Stephenson Harwood We’re thrilled to share that our first Bystander to Upstander Workshop, in partnership with Women In Law Hong Kong (WILHK) for Stephenson Harwood LLP was a great success! Participants left feeling more confident in identifying microaggressions and empowered to take action in creating more inclusive workplaces. Here are some of the key takeaways directly from participants: ✨ “Fantastic actors and actresses, they did a really great job of showing some real-life examples we encounter in the workplace.” ✨ “I found this workshop insightful and am glad that this conversation is ongoing.” ✨ “Listening to the discussions from the audience was very interesting, especially in a work context. People from different corporate positions had different perspectives, and it would have been difficult to see this outside the workshop.” ✨ “Useful workshop and good actors and good demonstration of how to be an upstander.” A big thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to such meaningful conversations. We’re excited to continue delivering these sessions and fostering environments where everyone feels empowered to speak up. About the workshop: Our Bystander to Upstander Workshop equips legal professionals with actionable strategies to build inclusive and psychologically safe workplaces. Creating space for real, open conversations about gender equity is essential. The last Young Allies Programme session with The Women's Foundation was a powerful reminder of how privilege, cultural norms, and perceptions shape our experiences. Whether its tackling ingrained household roles or addressing concerns like that of gender equality programmes disadvantaging men... these discussions matter, but what we do next matters even more. We're looking forward to diving deeper in session three of this year's cohort and keeping the momentum going! #BreakZeroSum #C4DialogueNavigator #HKMaleAllies #DramaticDifference
Masterful Coach for Inclusive Leadership * Intercultural Team Effectiveness * DEIB * C4 Dialogue & Communication
Digging deeper in dialogue... I applaud the 36 Young Allies, Male Mentors and invited women guests at our recent #GenderEquality session with #TWFHK for having the courage to connect. The room was flooded with sunshine, and that warmth carried through to the topics discussed. There was candid sharing of lived experiences of (in)equality at home and in the workplace, advice on tackling entrenched behaviour ("but my Mum won't let me wash up, even when I offer!"), and a 'Game of Life' that opened up discussions about layers of privilege and how easily we get caught in a win-lose mindset. Participants reported: "Learning about what privilege really is in the real world and how it affects us"; "[the need for] effectively communicating with our... typical Asian parents who unlikely talk about their feelings with us... to break the toxic stereotypical gender roles (mom= house chores; dad= breadwinner)"; "there appears to be a belief among young men that gender equality programs disadvantage them". ... May the conversations continue in these workshop rooms and beyond! #BreakZeroSum #HKMaleAllies #DramaticDifference #C4DialogueNavigator Ching Rita Lai Shan Chung Fiona Nott

We’re excited to share our Bystander to Upstander training in collaboration with Women In Law Hong Kong (WILHK) is now live! This theatre-led training is designed to empower individuals within Hong Kong’s legal sector to identify and address micro-aggressions in the workplace. We have partnered with WILHK to deliver this interactive workshop, which draws on the findings of WILHK’s groundbreaking 2022 survey on gender bias and everyday challenges faced by women in the legal industry. The insights from the survey, published in the Everyday Behaviour Project (EBP) Report, highlight critical issues like career bias, caregiving discrimination, and micro-aggressive behaviour in senior roles. Using experiential learning, and industry-custom scenarios, and of course our C4 Dialogue Navigator®, participants will gain practical skills to intervene as allies and build a more inclusive workplace. Let’s work together to make a change. Get in touch to subscribe to this training or to learn more: contact Harry Marshall, Katherine Sum, or email info@wilhk.com. The training is the latest tool stemming from WILHK’s first-of-its-kind 2022 survey which explored gender biased behaviours and everyday experiences of women in Hong Kong's legal industry. What emerged from the survey findings was a need for change and a clear call-to-action for industry practitioners. The survey findings were reported in our Everyday Behaviour Project (EBP) Report (https://lnkd.in/gaJHbJQp), which was sponsored by Mayer Brown, published in January 2023. 🌟 Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Growth, Connection & Impact 🌟 We’re wrapping up a remarkable year here at #DramaticDifference. It’s been 12 months full of hard work, big wins, exciting firsts, and deep conversations with our clients, partners, and participants. This year, we grew the Dramatic Difference APAC team to include Eric Sampson. We’ve also inducted new coaches and facilitators from Bangkok to Riyadh, to work with our #C4DialogueNavigator model. Best of all, we’ve extended partnerships with many of our long-established clients and kicked off inspiring work with new organisations, delivering transformative playshops, in-depth development journeys, and coaching engagements in Hong Kong, India, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, Taiwan, and China. 🌟Highlights we're really proud of this year: 🚀🎯 Leadership Development Programmes – Empowering leaders to navigate complexity, build impactful teams, and create strategic momentum. 🧠❤️ Psychological Safety and Dialogue Playshops – Fostering trust, improving communication, and unlocking high performance through C4 skill-building across diverse teams and organizations. 🎭 🗣️The Diversity Dialogues – Sparking engaging conversations on inclusion around mental health, neurodiversity, and the transgender experience. (Our library of monologues continues to expand, with clients asking us to develop scripts around Allyship, The Man Box, and Menopause for 2025.) 🌍 Of course a year of global reach brought a special buzz to an intercultural team like ours. Beyond the excitement of exploring new cultures (and savouring delicious food!), we’re proud to have tailored programmes to meet unique cultural and organisational needs, making a real local impact. In 2025, we’ll continue to co-create workplaces where people thrive and organizations flourish. Using our unique #TheatreLedLearning approach, we’ll help individuals and teams #RehearseRealLife and navigate the complexities of today’s workplace. To everyone who’s been part of our 2024 journey: thank you for your trust, collaboration, and enthusiasm. For those we’ve yet to connect with, we look forward to partnering with you in 2025. Wishing you a joyful and restful festive season! (Please note: The Dramatic Difference offices will close on December 24, 2024, and reopen on January 3, 2025.) 🌟 Exciting Times in Thailand! 🇹🇭 🌟 Last week, our Dramatic Difference Team had the incredible opportunity to fly to Thailand for a workshop focused on #PsychologicalSafety. We crafted a scripted theatre scene in collaboration with our client, showcasing a dysfunctional dialogue between two characters. This powerful scene highlighted the pitfalls of neglecting psychological safety and the resulting breakdown of #trust. We structured our day around Timothy R. Clark's insightful #PsychologicalSafety model, emphasizing: 💞 **Inclusion Safety** 🧑🎓 **Learner Safety** 💡 **Contributor Safety** 🫵 **Challenger Safety** The aim of our scripted scene was to help participants recognize what psychological safety looks like and the consequences of its absence. By activating both heart ❤️ and mind 🧠, we provided a platform to introduce and contextualize the learning content. We bring the rehearsal room into your meeting room and boardroom, encouraging quick thinking and creative collaboration. Our workshops are practical and enjoyable 😃, with our experienced coaches, facilitators & actors offering rich feedback to ensure the learning truly sticks. After all, practice makes perfect! Photo taken: As our actors rehearse on stage, I want to take a moment to say well done, team! 🎉 Eric Sampson Pavan J Singh Nina Kwok Stephen Matt Nipperess 😊 And of course, I had some fun with the actor team in Thailand—enjoying a well-deserved meal together! **Saweeda Ka!** 🙏 I’ll be in Bangkok until December 7, 2024. If you’re around and would like to meet up, drop me a message! I’ll share what I’m up to here tomorrow. Looking forward to connecting! 🌏✨ Sally Dellow Harry Marshall Danny Sierra G. Carson Wong

Last Saturday, The Young Allies Programme officially launched with the support of Capital Group and CLP, marking the beginning of an inspiring journey for male university students and their mentors from Male Allies Hong Kong. During an engaging workshop facilitated by our training partner Dramatic Difference, participants explored the concept of the "Man Box" - the societal expectations placed on men and their impact. This thought-provoking session set the tone for the programme’s ultimate goal: empowering young men to champion gender equality. Over the coming months, participants will take part in workshops, monthly mentoring sessions, and job shadowing opportunities. These experiences are designed to cultivate a dynamic group of young men equipped to challenge stereotypes, inspire allyship, and create positive societal change. Heartfelt thank you to our incredible mentors for their dedication and to Dramatic Difference for delivering such a meaningful and impactful session! #TWFHK #MaleAllies #GenderEqualityforMen

We’re having serious fun with our #C4DialogueNavigator® workshops (and playshops 🤩). Working with clever execs who are sometimes a bit bored or jaded, we deliberately keep the cognitive concepts clear and simple. This allows participants to focus their learning brain (and body), on bonding, and applying the tools. This way, they moved beyond just ‘I get it’ to I can actually ‘do it'... and do it better every time. Our #TheatreLedLearning Experiential approach engages brain, heart, gut and body to make the learning multi-level memorable. But don't just take our word for it. Here's feedback from participants this past week! 🌟“Really enjoyed this insightful session... really helps empower me as an individual and team member. And learning how to elevate!” 🌟“The structure of C4 is a great foundation for any conversation!” 🌟“This has been an amazing experience. Great points on how we can be trusted advisors” Get in touch to explore how our unique and interactive #C4DialogueNavigator® workshops can make a big impact on your team: https://lnkd.in/gA65SQbm

What a great week working once again with this fabulous team at The Trade Desk! Our workshop focussed on applying proactive language and how to establish yourself as a Trusted Advisor, inspired by the book by David H. Maister et. al. The Trusted Advisor was first introduced to me by a former manager many years ago and teaches us how to build trust through establishing credibility, demonstrating reliability, and fostering intimacy while minimising self-orientation. It is a call to courage to lead authentically and engage with conviction and candour to position yourself as a partner, expert-advisor, and leader in your space. Trust = Credibility + Reliability + Intimacy / Self-Orientation We reviewed live cases, assessed the level of trust with stakeholders based on this equation, practiced real-life conversations, and shared feedback to bring precision and polish to these interactions. Applying the #C4DialogueNavigator toolkit to the principles of being a Trusted Advisor is a powerful combination that will: ✅ Elevate the quality and effectiveness of your conversations ✅ Build trust and deepen your stakeholder/client relationships ✅ Bolster your reputation as a knowledgeable, proactive and goal-orientated leader Conducting conversations with Clarity + Curiosity builds your credibility while leading with Courage + Connection helps foster genuine bonds on which deep and lasting relationships are built. If you’re interested in learning what is your likely trust ‘score’, then check out the free quiz at https://lnkd.in/g59XhY3w. It will show you your top strength to leverage and a key opportunity to develop. Our C4 Dialogue Navigator toolkits are going down a storm with teams of all shapes and sizes and are being applied in numerous ways including navigating conflict, conducting effective performance conversations, developing coaching skills, and many more. Get in touch to learn how we develop leaders & teams for high performance through psychological safety, inclusion, and effective communication. 🎯 #LeadershipDevelopment #ExecutiveCoaching #C4DialogueNavigator Dramatic Difference Sally Dellow Katherine Sum Eric Sampson
